Kylie Minogue looks ethereal in pale pink gown as she raises a glass to celebrate her 57th birthday and the fifth anniversary of her wine brand at private members club in London
Kylie Minogue pulled out all the stops on Wednesday night to celebrate both her birthday and a major milestone for her wine brand at a London private members club. The Princess of Pop looked as thought she hadn't aged a day from when she first shot to fame in Neighbours in 1986, as she rang in her 57th birthday and marked the fifth anniversary of her business, Kylie Minogue Wines. To commemorate the special occasion, Kylie unveiled a limited-edition Côtes de Provence rosé bottle, crafted especially for the anniversary. Coordinating her outfit to match the rosé, the singer cut a radiant figure in a floaty pale pink gown adorned with an organza flower and sparkling piping at the neckline. And Kylie didn't resist letting her hair down as she celebrated two momentous occasions, taking to the dance floor to show off her moves. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. While she capped off the celebrations by joining friend and collaborator, The Blessed Madonna, in the DJ booth. Kylie took to the mike, to perform a surprise rendition of their hit, Edge of Saturday Night and remix, Can't Get Blue Monday out of My Head', for the lucky guests. The Spinning Around hitmaker launched Kylie Minogue Wines in 2020 on her 52nd birthday, with the brand having now sold over 20 million bottles globally. She first released a southern French rosé made from a blend of 80 per cent Carignan and 20 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon from the southern French coast. The salmon pink Vin de France rosé was kept on its lees for three months in stainless steel for added complexity. In an exclusive interview with The Drinks Business, Kylie revealed that drinking Provence rosé during sweltering nights in Nashville while recording her 14th album, Golden, is what inspired her to want to make her own. She told the publication: 'It was exceptionally hot and humid that summer, and it was an exciting time, being in Nashville and writing songs with no distractions.' 'While dining outdoors one night, my manager Polly and I were drinking Whispering Angel to cool down from the heat, which got me thinking how great it would be to have my own rosé.' 'I love pale pink rosés and all the associations of the Mediterranean that go with them.' Keen to be involved in all stages of the production process, Kylie chose the wine's long-necked, bell-shaped bottle finished with a pearlescent capsule. She also designed the label featuring her name repeated in relief and her signature in black in the centre. The Padam Padam chart-topper later launched a lees-aged Sauvignon Blanc from Gascony and a Pays d'Oc Merlot. While in November, a drinks industry source revealed that her prosecco had become hugely successful, saying: 'The prosecco has been a massive seller for Kylie. 'It is a good quality product - just as you'd expect from someone like Kylie – and it is very drinkable.' 'She wouldn't have put her name to an inferior product and she's reaping the rewards of a successful brand.' Showing her packed and busy schedule, Kylie's night of celebrations came just a day after she took to the stage for the first of four nights at London's O2 for her Tension Tour on Tuesday. Speaking to The Sun after the performance ended, the Australian star told how her Tension Tour almost didn't happen. She said: 'It's been a lot of work and we almost didn't get there, but it's great.' Asked if she watches her performances back, Kylie added: 'I don't watch it on YouTube, but I do see it on socials and that way, sometimes with a phone, the angle is weird or the colours are off, but it gives you another perspective.' On her love of performing, she said: 'My love for doing this only grows and grows. Thank you for understanding and being there for me on my journey. For me, it began in a mystical time known as the Eighties.' Kylie's Tension Tour is split into five acts with the star kicking things off with her 2024 single Lights Camera Action before going into other hits like In Your Eyes, Get Outta My Way and Spinning Around. Later in the show, Kylie performed some of her earlier hits including Better The Devil You Know and The Locomotion. The final act features some of her most-loved hits including Padam Padam, Can't Get You Outta My Head and All The Lovers before an encore featuring Tension and Love At First Sight. The star is the highest-selling Australian female artist of all time and the third best-selling in the UK, but has only now begun to make a name for herself in the US following the success of her viral 2023 hit Padam Padam.

Whispering Angel rosé fans can snap up a dupe from bargain supermarket – & it's 50 per cent cheaper
WITH summer months on the horizon, many people will be excited to enjoy a cold glass of Whispering Angel rose in the sun. However, with bottles setting customers back £22.50 at Tesco, you may be interested in a £10.99 dupe now available at Lidl. 4 As of May 20, Lidl is now selling Breath of Paradise, which is also made from grapes located in the Côtes de Provence area. Wines from this region have surged in popularity among Brits over the last few years, who are drawn to their pale pink hue, refreshing elegance, and easy pairing with summer dishes. With the bank holiday weekend around the corner, it could be the perfect time to try the Breath of Paradise tipple. However, Lidl has confirmed it will be available throughout the summer period. Lidl's Master of Wine, Richard Bampfield, says: 'Well known for producing grapes that fuel the 'premium dry rosé' category, wines from the region of Provence are well known by both Brits and the French alike. 'However, with branded options often carrying a hefty price tag, most tend to reserve them for special occasions rather than include them in the weekly shop. 'At excellent value, Lidl's Breath of Paradise is a summer game changer. 'Like any luxurious dry rosé alternative, it's made primarily with Grenache grapes grown in Provence, giving it that iconic rosé hue and the classic Provençal aroma of fresh peach and wild herbs that we know and love. 'With a perfectly balanced acidity, body and dryness, each bottle of Breath of Paradise is effortlessly drinkable. 'Best served well chilled or even over a large ice cube, it'll quench the thirst of rosé lovers at any occasion this summer.' Five Lidl rosés you need this summer, according to a wine expert - a £6.99 buy is as light & crispy as £22 Whispering Angel Giving fans of pale blush rosés a taste they can Côte d'Afford, this rosé may not be one to whisper about. Whispering Angel is the flagship wine of Château d'Esclans, a vineyard north of Saint Tropez, France. After exploding onto the market, it became a celebrity favourite - including among the Beckhams. Adele even told US Vogue that her first lockdown food shop was for ketchup and Whispering Angel, and said it 'turned me into a barking dog. It did not make me whisper.' The hype is thanks to its gorgeous bottle, Instagrammable look and champagne-style branding. Whispering Angel made rosé cool again, lots of sommeliers believe. There was a period where rosé was viewed as inferior to its red and white counterparts. But its popularity has rocketed over the last five years, partly thanks to Whispering Angel. The hype isn't set to die down either. Global consumption of rosé will climb from 2.23 billion litres in 2020 to 2.63 billion in 2025, according to market analyst GlobalData. Wine expert shares her view on Aldi's Whispering Angel dupe WINE culturist Amelia Singer hails 'The Chassaux et Fils Rosé' as a "really savvy move from Aldi". Here, she gives Fabulous her verdict... Sainte Victoire is my favourite part of Provence to find personality filled yet great value Rosé. Thanks to the altitude of the Sainte Victoire hillsides, the grapes get exposed to plenty of sunshine during the day but their ripeness is moderated by cooler evening temperatures. This enables the wine to brim with intense, complex fruit which is balanced by elegant acidity and herbal finesse. I am delighted that Aldi are highlighting an actual area of Provence as quality and flavour profiles can vary greatly – however I always know with Rosé from Sainte Victoire that I will not be disappointed. Way better than Whispering Angel: 6 must-have rosé dupes from £5.50 for your weekend picnic plans
Nothing says summer to us more than soaking in the sun, Sabrina Carpenter blasting from the speakers, hanging out with your friends on a picnic blanket that has definitely seen better days, and crucially sipping on a bottle of what is often considered the world's best rosé - Whispering Angel. With it's soft pale pink colour, so pale it could almost be water (my marker of a truly good rosé), dry, with notes of berries and florals, it is a very drinkable wine. However, at over £20 a bottle in most supermarkets, it's not the best rosé for our wallets during summer. Thankfully, there a bunch of alternatives available perfect for getting the Whispering Angel vibe, but not the Whispering Angel price tag. Now don't get us wrong, we're still picking up a bottle of Whispering Angel for date night or a solo night in, but when we're hosting and have multiple people to feed, one of these 6 bottles under £13.00 are the best alternatives. Yes that's right, this dupe is less than £6! It's made from grapes in a similar area to Whispering Angel and has similar notes of red fruits (redcurrant) and sweet citrus (clementine, sweet grapefruit). It has an average of 3.8 out of five stars from reviewers on Tesco, with one reviewer saying it was "one of the best rosé I've tasted" and another said it's a "classic affordable rosé". Well that's good enough for us. This is easily considered one TikTok's favourite dupe for Whispering Angel, having gone viral last year. This rosé has aromas of strawberry and watermelon, and has notes of raspberry and red cherry. Wine TikToker @partnerinwineuk raved about the wine last year, praising it for it's "flavour" and "freshness." While it usually retails for £6.99, at some points over the summer last year it was on offer for just £4.99 so keep an eye out for the deals. Ok so technically this is an Italian wine, meaning it's not a Provence speciality, like Whispering Angel. It's created using red wine grapes from northern Italy's Bardolino region and white wine techniques. However, the colour is a near perfect match and it also has notes of nectarine and raspberry, matching the berry flavours of Whispering Angel. And at £8 a bottle, we're sure to be stocking up this summer. Another highly rated rosé, this time from Lidl. The Côtes de Provence is made in the same region as Whispering Angel and is rated 88/100 by Lidl's in-house Master of Wine Richard Brampton, who has ranked the wine within the brand's 'Wine with Special Qualities' section. Ok this is easily one of the most drinkable rosés I've ever had. Though it hails from Spain, it still has that light, dry and fruity notes that we love about France's Whispering Angel. Also the bottle makes it look so much more expensive than it is. Last year ASDA introduced their answer to a Whispering Angel, hilariously named a Screaming Devil. It's got white peach, bright mango, and passion fruit aromas, along with rhubarb notes too. Wine expert Tom Gibley, blind rated Screaming Devil against Whispering angel on his TikTok last year and Screaming Devil came out as the winner, with Tom describing it as "juicy, tasty, perfectly good rosé." Sounds like a winner all round. Lydia Venn is Cosmopolitan UK's Senior Entertainment and Lifestyle Writer. She covers everything from TV and film, to the latest celebrity news.
