Gino D'Acampo 'made disgusting sexual comments' about Holly Willoughby as ITV accused of ignoring complaints

Gino D'Acampo reportedly made 'disgusting' sexual comments about his ITV co-star Holly Willoughby. The TV chef, 48, is facing 'dozens' of accusations of misconduct spanning 12 years, including using sexualised and aggressive language on TV sets. D'Acampo has 'firmly denied' the allegations, saying they were 'simply not in my nature' and describing them as 'deeply upsetting'. A horrified woman has claimed he told her he is regularly asked if he would rather sleep with Willoughby or her close friend and Celebrity Juice co-star, Fearne Cotton. According to The Sun, he said: 'If I could put the face of one on the body of the other then maybe, but I'd probably choose Holly because I'd have more fun with her.' The woman called D'Acampo 'crude and vile' and said she was 'disgusted' by the remarks, adding that she warned ITV about him in 2018. She alleged that she emailed ITV, writing: 'He is certainly not a man reflecting integrity or honesty or family values.' The woman claimed the network 'came back sharply, essentially telling me to go away'. It comes amid claims that This Morning staff raised concerns about D'Acampo's behaviour a decade ago. Several crew and production members reportedly flagged issues to their bosses, accusing the chef of bullying and making sexually inappropriate comments. A source told The Sun it was 'no secret that Gino was difficult to work with' and many crew members 'dreaded' being on set with him. The insider added that he would 'constantly joke about his manhood' and make 'sexually explicit' comments. ITV management were warned about his conduct as recently as 2023, according to the outlet. The Standard has contacted representatives for D'Acampo, Willoughby, and ITV for comment. D'Acampo's alleged behaviour was described as 'unacceptable' and 'distressing' by those making the allegations in an ITV News investigation last week. The Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip star "firmly denied" the allegations, saying they were "simply not in my nature" and described them as "deeply upsetting". In one alleged incident in 2011, he reportedly told a colleague he would 'like to turn me over and f*** me up the a*** against the kitchen counter'. Another woman alleged "aggressive" behaviour by D'Acampo on a location shoot, claiming he opened the door in his boxers and made reference to his genitalia. A former colleague also claimed D'Acampo confronted a young crew member over ice cream in 2019, allegedly saying: 'If you don't get me a Cornetto, I will f*** your girlfriend.' D'Acampo's representatives said he was 'mortified' by the accusation and 'does not recall this incident at all'. ITV has axed Family Fortunes, which D'Acampo hosts, and dropped two episodes of Gino's Italy: Secrets of the South that were scheduled for the weekend.

While the investigation continues, reruns of D'Acampo's old shows have been pulled from the ITV schedule. The presenter's statement reads in full: 'I have been told by ITN News that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over 10 years ago. 'I have never been made aware of these matters previously and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me. 'Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before, I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and was commissioned on prime-time programmes during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately. 'I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of. I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting.' The Guardian approached D'Acampo's representatives for comment. Gino D'Acampo's ITV shows removed from schedule

Gino D'Acampo's upcoming shows have been removed from ITV's schedule, after the celebrity chef was accused of inappropriate and intimidating behaviour on set. Friday night's ITV2 episode of Family Fortunes has been replaced by Wheel of Fortune, an ITV spokesperson told BBC News, adding that Sunday's two episodes of Secrets of the South, are no longer in the ITVBe schedule. On Thursday, ITV News published an investigation which said it had spoken to "dozens" of people who accused him of "unacceptable", "distressing" and "horrendous" comments. In a statement to ITV News via his legal team, D'Acampo "firmly denied" the "deeply upsetting" allegations. BBC News has approached D'Acampo's representative for comment. D'Acampo, 48, has been a regular on UK television since the early 2000s. He has primarily worked for ITV, including on a number of cooking and travel shows, as well as making appearances on other entertainment programmes. The Italian-born chef and broadcaster has also made appearances on BBC programmes. It is understood that there are now no repeats featuring D'Acampo in ITV's linear schedule. However, some of his programmes are still available on ITVX, the broadcaster's streaming service. A new series of Family Fortunes, filmed in October, hasn't been broadcast yet, and it's understood there are currently no plans to air it. TV chef Gino D'Acampo denies inappropriate behaviour claims ITV News published a number of allegations from anonymous accusers who said they had worked with D'Acampo on TV productions. BBC News has not spoken to his accusers nor has it verified their claims. They accused him of aggressive behaviour, using abusive language during outbursts on set and using sexualised language. His behaviour allegedly left some production staff fearful and uncomfortable, ITV News reported. It added that most people it spoke to were freelancers and had been too scared to complain at the time for fear of risking future employment. Responding to the investigation, D'Acampo's representatives told ITV News that he "firmly denied" the claims. He said he had "never been made aware of these matters previously". A statement continued: "I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of. "I take such matters extremely seriously," he said, adding that the suggestion that he acted in an improper way was "deeply upsetting". In a statement, ITV said production companies "have the primary responsibility for the duty of care of everyone they work with". The broadcaster said it had "strengthened" policies about what standards they expect from production companies it works with in the last five years. A statement continued: "All of the concerns and complaints raised by those who have spoken to ITN [the producer of ITV News] describe behaviour which is inappropriate and unacceptable. "Most of them were not reported to ITV at the time. Where issues have been raised with ITV action has been taken."
