Train, aid placement of 6,000 unemployed youth this year, IT Minister tells TASK

Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu advised Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) officials to consider pursuing a target of training at least 6,000 unemployed youth in advanced technologies and facilitate their placement in the current academic year. The Minister, who conducted a review meeting at the Secretariat on various initiatives undertaken by TASK, said this on Friday. He expressed satisfaction over the Academy's role in facilitating job placements for 4,100 candidates over the past year. TASK has made significant progress in equipping unemployed youth and students with industry-relevant skills, thereby enhancing their employability. At another level, the Academy has been aligning its training modules with industry needs and playing a pivotal role in placing skilled youth in relevant jobs, he said. During the last year, TASK provided training to record 1,37,677 students and 2,791 faculty members across various technical and skill domains, Mr. Sridhar Babu said. It played a key role in organising job fairs across 148 colleges in 21 districts and on corporate campuses, helping 4,100 talented individuals secure employment with a minimum annual package of ₹2.4 lakh, the Minister's office said in a release on Friday. ₹11 lakh annual package Notable among the hiring firms were American company Verisk Analytics that recruited tech professionals with an annual package of ₹11 lakh for its Hyderabad campus; UBS onboarding 63 candidates with a ₹6 lakh annual package and Hyundai Mobis training and hiring 42 candidates through TASK initiatives. To support youth with disabilities in gaining employment and nurturing entrepreneurship, TASK entered into an MoU with Tata Trusts, as part of which Tata will conduct skill training programmes for three years. TASK also signed an MoU with TVAGA to offer three-year training programmes in Animation, Gaming, VFX, and Comics.

U.S. firm Evergent Tech's innovation hub opened in Hyderabad, to employ 1,000 people by 2025

California-headquartered AI-powered SaaS solutions provider for media and entertainment, telco and digital consumer businesses Evergent Technologies formally opened its global value centre (GVC) in Hyderabad and with it announced plans to hire at least 400 additional employees for the GVC by this year. Established as a strategic product and innovation hub, the centre has onboarded more than 600 engineering and AI professionals thus far. The company aims to scale this to more than 1,000 employees by 2025, Evergent said after Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu inaugurated the GVC on Tuesday (June 4, 2025). The launch of the GVC syncs well with Telangana's vision to contribute $1 trillion to India's economy over next decade. Facilitating a shift from volume-led to value-led growth in tech industry will be one of the growth drivers, something that could be achieved by building capacity in high-impact areas like AI, semiconductors, defence, and deep-tech, the Minister said. Setting up of such facilities marks a shift to building high-value IP and global products from Telangana, leveraging Hyderabad's deep tech talent and driving innovation at scale, a press release from the Minister's office on his speech said. Under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's leadership, Telangana has attracted investments worth ₹3 lakh crore over the past 18 months, he said. The focus is on making Telangana a hub for emerging technologies such as AI, ML and Quantum Computing. Evergent CEO and founder Vijay Sajja said 'we have combined the best of Silicon Valley and India to build mission-critical, AI-driven SaaS solutions that power monetisation for global media giants. Hyderabad's exceptional engineering talent is at the core of our innovation...' he said. The firm is developing proprietary intellectual property in Hyderabad that enables monetisation for global media giants such as the NBA, Sky, DirecTV, and SonyLIV across more than 180 countries. Its platform, entirely built in India, has helped onboard over 920 million subscribers worldwide on behalf of its clients, creating one of the largest datasets for AI-driven business intelligence.

The company has established this centre as its strategic product and innovation hub. Evergent has already onboarded over 600 engineering and AI professionals in Hyderabad and plans to grow to over 1,000 employees by the end of 2025, strengthening its commitment to the region as a strategic innovation hub. The IT Minister, who met Evergent's senior leadership team, including CEO Vijay Sajja, discussed the company's growth plans and explored opportunities for deeper collaboration in innovation and talent development in Hyderabad. Telangana govt. to develop 80-acres Eco-Town modelled on Japanese city Kitakyushu

Drawing inspiration from the model of Kitakyushu City in Japan and as part of its focus on sustainable development, Telangana government will establish an Eco-Town across 80 acres, Industries and IT Minister Babu said here on Monday. The State government of Telangana will also be collaborating with Kitakyushu on several forward-looking initiatives, including Net Zero targets, riverfront development, circular economy practices, clean technologies and digital innovation, the Minister told a conference in which the Japanese city's Mayor Kazuhisa Takeuchi also participated. Telangana is envisioning the upcoming Future City as a benchmark in environmental sustainability with a focus on the development of eco-friendly industrial zones, zero-waste design principles and advanced water and waste management systems, he said. Seeking to highlight how Telangana is actively promoting Japanese investment in the State, the Minister said the feasibility of introducing direct flight services between Hyderabad and Kitakyushu will be explored to further strengthen bilateral ties. He urged Japanese industrialists to consider investing in view of the favourable industrial ecosystem in Telangana. The government's sustained efforts over the past 18 months had resulted in securing Rs.3 lakh crore investments from various leading corporations globally. TGIIC MD Vishnuvardhan Reddy and CEO Madhusudan, Director of the State Investment Promotion Cell Avinash and CII Telangana Chairman Shiva Prasad Reddy were among who participated in the conference 'From Kitakyushu to Telangana: Catalysing Sustainable Industrial Growth' jointly organised by the State government and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at T-Hub.

Affirming the commitment of the Congress government to rebuild Telangana to realise the dreams of martyrs of Telangana Statehood movement, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu has said the Telangana Rising-2047 action plan will propel Telangana's inclusive growth. Speaking at the Telangana Formation Day main ceremony held at the police parade grounds in Karimnagar on Monday (June 2), the Minister said it is our responsibility to cherish the memories and indomitable spirit of the martyrs of Telangana movement, carry forward their legacy and realise their vision. He reiterated that the people's government will support the bereaved families of the Telangana martyrs. He added that the vision document presented by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the recently held NITI Aayog meeting envisages welfare of poor, progressive policies, development of world-class infrastructure and good governance. The State government has already initiated a string of key initiatives, including the Welfare and Social Justice policy, Green Energy Policy, Infra and Industrial Policy, and Tourism Policy in this direction to position Telangana as a progressive State, he added. 'Our government succeeded in unveiling the growth potential of Telangana at several international fora, including the WEF Davos, thereby attracting huge investments with a thrust on economic growth and job creation,' he said. Mr. Sridhar Babu added that the prestigious global events, including BioAsia-2025, AI Global Summit and Miss World beauty pageant, were organised successfully in Hyderabad. He said the landmark welfare initiatives of the State government such as Indira Mahila Shakti, Maha Lakshmi free travel for women in TGSRTC buses, Rythu Barosa, Rajiv Yuva Vikasam and Bhu Bharati are the hallmarks of the inclusive welfare agenda of the people's government. Karimnagar Collector Pamela Satpathy, Commissioner of Police Gaush Alam and others were present.
