Couple among three electrocuted in Kashi

Varanasi: A woman, her husband and father-in-law were electrocuted in their house after a damaged live wire fell on a steel hanger in the Bhojubir Sabjimandi area under Cantt police station on deceased couple is survived by two minor daughters, who were at school when the incident occurred. UP minister Ravindra Jaiswal asked district administration officials to ensure financial assistance of Rs 5 lakhs for kin of deceased besides all possible Varuna Pramod Kumar said Preeti Jaiswal (28) was hanging wet, washed clothes on a steel hanger for drying when a damaged live wire connected to the water pump came in contact with a hanger. Preeti was electrocuted and when her husband Sonu Jaiswal (30) his father, Rajendra Jaiswal (65), tried to rescue them they got electrocuted too. All three died on the spot, said the and Preeti's two daughters, Shivangi (9) and Nancy (4), were at school. On receiving information, local outpost in charge reached the spot. The power supply to the house was stopped, after which the bodies were sent for postmortem. Sonu ran a fast food kiosk, while Rajendra worked at a bakery. Later, hundreds gathered in and outside the house. Elderly locals and relatives had a difficult time to convince the children to allow police to take the bodies for postmortem. UP minister Ravindra Jaiswal met the family members and locals and assured surviving family members all possible support.
