DII Elite 8 coaches facing transfer portal challenges amid tournament
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The DII Elite 8 for men's basketball is about to wrap up with the National Championship on Saturday. Cal St. Dom. Hills will face Nova Southeastern in the Ford Center at 2 p.m. Throughout the week, the last eight teams left standing have been in Evansville. Many of the coaches talked about the transfer portal and some of the issues they've faced with it. While the tournament is ongoing, the portal opened up on March 25th. USI's Brent Owen ends first season as head coach of Lenoir-Rhyne in Elite 8
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Brent Owen is the head coach of Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball. The Bears lost in the DII Elite 8 in Evansville against Washburn. It was Owen's first season as the program's head coach. He previously was a USI player and assistant coach. Owen also led Tell City's boys basketball team for a couple of years.
