BBC One Show halted for important announcement as talk turns to 'horrific' real-world tragedy

BBC's The One Show was halted for an important announcement this evening following an intense interview on a "horrific" real-world tragedy.
On Wednesday night (April 23), hosts Alex Jones and JB Gill welcomed celebrity guests Max Beesley and Edison Alcaide to the green sofa. The pair are starring in the upcoming Disney+ series Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles De Menezes.
The upcoming four-part series, released on the streaming platform on April 30, tells the real-life story of the death of Brazilian man Jean Charles De Menezes who was mistaken for a terrorist in the wake of the 2005 London bombings. The bombing attack occurred on July 7 killing 52 people and injuring 770 more.

Newcomer Edison portrays Menezes on the Disney+ drama, which is his first-ever on-screen role. The cast also includes Game Of Thrones actor Conleth Hill as then-Met Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair, with Years and Years and Being Human's Russell Tovey as his deputy assistant commissioner Brian Paddick.

Meanwhile Max, who portrays assistant commissioner Andy Hayman, shared with One Show viewers where he was when the real-world bombings occurred.
"I remember where I was on the day, we were meant to do a read-through of a show at 9, and the producers said let's start at 8.30 so we were on the infrastructure going into the workplace an hour earlier than we would have been," he began.
"All of us were on that infrastructure and it was terrifying hearing the sirens at 9.30 and think what the heck is going on and of course we learned now what a tragedy that was."

"I think everybody remembers where they were, don't they?" host Alex Jones interjected.
When the interview wrapped up, Alex halted the show's usual proceedings, swiftly turning to the camera to issue an important announcement for viewers watching at home.
