To intimidate mining companies, Maoists set truck ablaze in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh
Armed members of the banned Maoist outfit Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC) intercepted and set ablaze a mining truck in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district Sunday evening, in what police believe was a deliberate attempt to intimidate mining companies. They also fired indiscriminately and left a threat letter targeting major mining companies. Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee is a banned outfit that is splinter group of the erstwhile Maoist Communist Centre (MCC) – a Maoist outfit that fused with the People's War Group in September 2004 to make the present-day Communist Party of India (Maoist). The incident occurred around 8:20 pm near a site operated by BGR Company, where two Scania trucks were engaged in dumping operations. According to the police, 4-5 armed men approached the vehicles, forced drivers to get down, and roughed up a driver who resisted and eventually fired indiscriminately. The driver who was roughed up allegedly sustained minor injuries to his neck. Vicky Thakur, Pagar Outpost incharge under Keredari police station, said: 'After dousing the vehicle with petrol and setting it ablaze, the insurgents left behind a pamphlet in the name of one Kaushal ji, identifying themselves as TSPC members. The letter warned all mining lease holders, including DO holder mines and outsourced mining operators, to initiate dialogue with the group or face 'serious consequences'. 'They've named NTPC, CCL, L&T, and others in the pamphlet and said operations without prior negotiation would invite action. It's mostly addressed to operators of outsourced mines, although regular work continues,' he said. The pamphlet allegedly invoked Marxist ideology and challenged the legitimacy of police presence, stating that law enforcement does not exist for the interests of corporations and that 'criminal action' would follow any attempt to bypass the group's conditions. Security has since been intensified in the area, and police have launched a probe to identify and apprehend those involved. 'A formal report has been filed, and patrolling around key mining zones has been increased,' Thakur said. The injured driver, identified as Gautam Dubey, is associated with the mining vehicle operations and is currently stable. And the 38-year-old seemed on course to have his hand raised after dropping Zahabi with a brutal head kick in the third round, which he followed up with a running kick to the face. But he found himself eating a hellacious barrage of punches and elbows, which opened up a gash on his forehead, from his back following a failed takedown for the remainder of the round. The judges, surprisingly, scored the fight in Zahabi's favour, with all three of them turning in 29-28 scorecards in favour of the Canadian. And the decision prompted an emotional Aldo to once again cal time on his career. He said: "I don't think I have it in me anymore. It wasn't just about the cutting of the weight and everything else. "I just felt there were so many things that happened. It was very tough to go through all of this. "There was one point this week — this was a very tough week — that I felt that I didn't have it in me, I didn't want to cut it anymore. He ran roughshod through the WEC before it was absorbed by the UFC and he became the promotion's inaugural featherweight champion. Aldo amassed 18 wins on the bounce during a whopping TEN-YEAR undefeated streak from 2005 to 2015. His legendary run was ended by former bitter rival and two-division champion Conor McGregor, who won their mammoth unification bout at UFC 194 with a 13-second KO. He'd reclaim the belt in 2016 after winning the interim title against Frankie Edgar, although he'd lose it to Max Holloway in June 2017. He'd fail to become a two-weight world champion in July 2020 after dropping down to bantamweight, suffering a fifth-round TKO defeat to Petr Yan. The fan favourite would close out his legendary career with four wins in his last seven outings.

Pregnant woman claims dead rat found in salad at Sydney restaurant
SYDNEY: A Japanese restaurant in Sydney has issued a public apology after a customer claimed to have discovered a dead rat in her meal. According to the incident allegedly occurred at Tatsuya West Ryde, where a diner reported finding the rodent in her side salad while eating a katsu don lunch set. The woman, who posted a Google review under the name DO, described the experience as shocking and disturbing. "I'd eaten half of it at this point. Just absolutely revolting and unacceptable," she wrote in the review. She added that after she made the disturbing discovery, "everyone who was present at the time stood up and left the restaurant." Another review, posted by a person identified as JH, who claimed to be the woman's friend, described the situation in even stronger terms. "My pregnant friend and I were having their lunch set today and in her small salad was a disgusting feral dead rat that was underneath the salad," JH wrote, giving the restaurant a one-star rating. "I don't even think I should be giving a star considering what happened today." Both reviewers expressed outrage that the restaurant continued operating after the alleged discovery. Daniel Kim, who identified himself as DO's husband, also left a review, saying: "My wife's salad had a rat in it. Absolutely disgusting." In response to Kim's review, the restaurant acknowledged the complaint and extended an apology. "We sincerely apologise for this incident," the restaurant wrote. "The issue originated from a delivered salad box which we are currently investigating with our supplier and local food authorities." The business added that it was taking necessary measures to prevent similar events in the future. "We are taking all necessary steps to prevent such incidents and appreciate your understanding," the restaurant said in a statement. According to a statement from the restaurant's owner confirmed that an investigation is underway.

Restaurant forced to apologise after customer was served 'dead rat'
A restaurant in Sydney has apologised after a dead rat appeared to be served to one of its customers. Tatsuya West Ryde, which specialises in Japanese cuisine, was recently forced to apologise when a Google reviewer under the name 'DO' complained of the unwanted rodent she'd discovered in her side salad. The woman alleged to have found it while enjoying her Katsudon meal (a bowl of rice topped with a deep-fried breaded pork cutlet, egg, vegetables, and condiments). "I'd eaten half of [the salad] at this point. Just absolutely revolting and unacceptable," she wrote. "Everyone who was present at the time, stood up and left the restaurant." Her friend, posting as 'JH', produced a one-star review for Tatsuya, despite suggesting they didn't even deserve that after 'what happened today'. "My pregnant friend and I were having their lunch set today and in her small salad was a disgusting feral dead rat that was underneath the salad," revealed JH, who was also revolted by the fact Tatsuya allegedly continued to serve its customers while all the commotion was going on. DO's husband Daniel Kim shared on Google too: "My wife's salad had a rat in it. Absolutely disgusting." Looking to squash the drama, Tatsuya directly responded to the online feedback by saying it 'sincerely' apologised for its horrendous mistake. "The issue originated from a delivered salad box which we are currently investigating with our supplier and local food authorities," they noted. "We are taking all necessary steps to prevent such incidents and appreciate your understanding." For 9 News, the restaurant's owner reiterated that an investigation was in motion. "Google reviews are based on personal opinions, not verified facts," they commented. "An incident did occur, and the cause is currently under investigation. We have responded to the incident appropriately and are continuing to follow up with additional measures." Responding on Google Reviews, the restaurant said: "We are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness. Immediately following the incident, we: - Voluntarily reported the issue to the NSW Food Authority and the City of Ryde - Quarantined all related ingredients for investigation - Engaged professional pest control services for a full-site inspection and treatment - Closed the restaurant this afternoon for a thorough deep cleaning - Retrained all staff on food inspection and handling protocols - Initiated an internal reviews of our supply chain and food safety procedures "We recognise that words alone are not enough. Our responsibility now is to act decisively, improve our standards, and rebuild the trust that this community has placed in us. That is what we are committed to-openly, sincerely, and with lasting improvements. "We offer our heartfelt apology to the customer involved and to everyone affected. At Tatsuya, we hold ourselves to high standards. When we fall short, we take it seriously, and we are committed to doing better. "Thank you for your patience and understanding."
