Nizam College and Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women's University saw the maximum intake of students recording over 97% (1,170 candidates) and 93% (1,724), respectively, in the Degree Online Services Telangana (DOST) 2025-26 phase-I allotment. Six colleges affiliated to Osmania University were also in the top-10 list of colleges that were readily allotted in the exercise. A total of 89,572 candidates had registered for phase-I and 60,436 candidates were allotted seats. About 4,755 candidates could not be allotted a seat because of their limited choice, officials said. Data from Telangana Council of Higher Education also showed that about 42,000 candidates got their seat allotted on first-priority basis. Female candidates, 38,041 in all, were dominant in the allotment and intake compared to 22,395 male candidates. Except the top ranker in Commerce and Management, all other disciplines such as Life Science, Arts, and Physical Sciences, had female toppers and top-five rankers. Of the 805 colleges on DOST-2025, there are 74 colleges that were not allotted any students. The phase-II registrations and web options, as per the schedule, will continue till June 9 and the seat allotment will be done on June 13.

1 2 Hyderabad: With the Telangana govt reserving all seats for local students, the number of allotments in the Degree Online Services Telangana (DOST) first phase counselling dropped by 20% this year. While a total of 76,290 seats were allotted in DOST first phase counselling in 2024, this year the number stood at 60,436. In 2025, a total of 89,572 candidates have registered for DOST and 65,191 candidates have given web options. "We are getting several requests from non-local candidates who are looking for admission in degree colleges in Telangana. We have decided to open seats up for them in the spot admissions," V Balakista Reddy, chairman, Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) told TOI. He said that as all local students would already have been given a chance to get a seat in counselling process, opening seats for non-locals during spot admissions will ensure that they are not violating any norms. This year commerce and life sciences courses are in demand at the undergraduate level. Of the total allotted seats, 21,758 are allotted in commerce and 15,249 in physical science. The remaining seats are allotted in life sciences, arts, and other courses. Of the total seats allotted, 38,041 are allotted to female candidates and 22,395 to male candidates. Among colleges, Nizam College is at the top position as 97.74% of seats (1170 out of 1197) are filled in the first phase of counselling itself, followed by Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Womens University, Koti with 93.19% and Government City College (Autonomous), Hyderabad with 88.89% of seats getting filled. Just like every year, a majority, 58,575, of these seats are allotted in English medium, 1,552 in Telugu medium, and 309in Urdu medium. All the candidates, who have secured a seat, will have to reserve their seat by online self-reporting between May 30 and June 6 using their DOST candidate login by paying prescribed fees. DOST phase-2 registrations and web-options will begin from May 30 to June 9 and seat allotment will be done on June 13. A total of 3,71,096 seats are available through DOST this year.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) announced the first phase of Degree Online Service, Telangana (DOST) admission allotments for undergraduate courses on Thursday. TGCHE Chairman and DOST Convenor, Prof V Balakista Reddy, shared details about the allotment, noting that 60,436 students were allotted seats in the first phase. He congratulated the selected students and said that the total number of candidates registered for Phase I stood at 89,572. The registration methods included Aadhaar Mobile-linked OTP authentication (84,820 candidates), DOST App authentication (2,030 candidates), and Mee Seva biometric authentication (2,722 candidates). Out of the total registered for Phase I, 65,191 candidates exercised their web options, and from this group, 60,436 were allocated seats. That apart, 4,755 students exercised web options but did not receive seat allotments, as the candidates were given limited choices during the web options process. Of the students who received seats, 42,014 were allotted based on their first priority. About 18,422 received seats based on their second priority. In faculty-wise allotments, the commerce stream led with 21,758 allotments, followed by physical sciences (15,249), life sciences (11,005), arts (5,986), and others (6,438), making the total allotments in the first phase 60,436. Regarding medium-wise allotments, 58,575 candidates were from the English medium, followed by 1,552 from the Telugu medium, none from the Hindi medium, and 309 from the Urdu medium. Gender-wise, 38,041 girls and 22,395 boys were allotted seats. A total of 805 colleges participated in DOST for the 2025 admissions, offering 457 courses. The total seats available under DOST-2025 stood at 371,096, with candidates exercising 334,960 web options. Additionally, 74 colleges were not allocated any students. All candidates who secure a seat are required to reserve it through Online Self-Reporting from May 30 to June 6, by paying either Rs 500 or Rs 1,000, depending on the case, via the DOST Candidate Login. Candidates allotted seats in Government Degree Colleges/University Colleges who are provisionally eligible for the ePASS fee reimbursement (subject to verification of caste and income certificates) are not required to pay any amount for seat reservation during Online Self-Reporting.

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has released the phase 1 seat allotment result for Degree Online Services, Telangana (DOST) today, May 29. Candidates who registered for admissions at the TS DOST 2025 portal can now access the phase 1 results by visiting the official website, Candidates who have been allotted seats in the phase 1 will have to complete their self reporting process to confirm their admission. The last date for reporting for TS DOST round 1 is June 9, 2025. Failing to report before the deadline will result in disqualification.
