They think that Eric was emotional because of the scandal involving his teammate Ju Haknyeon. His eyes welled up, and he quickly covered his face with his hands, clearly trying to hide his emotions. In the wake of the incident, the idol was officially removed from THE BOYZ. His contract with One Hundred Label, a subsidiary of IST Entertainment, has also been terminated. In response to the controversy, Ju Haknyeon posted a handwritten letter denying the claims of his involvement in any illegal activity. He apologised to his fans and even accepted that he attended a private gathering, but denied involvement in prostitution. Following the controversy, the other THE BOYZ members, including Sunwoo, Younghoon, Q, Eric, Jacob, Juyeon, New, Hyunjae, and Kevin, released their individual statements through a fan communication platform, addressed to their fandom, called B, on June 18.
