Pope Leo XIV collectible released by National Bobblehead Hall of Fame

(NewsNation) — The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum released its Pope Leo XIV bobbleheads on May 9, selling 2,000 in its first week to customers across 47 states, according to a press release. The bobbleheads have been popular in Chicago where the pontiff was born and raised and in Philadelphia where he went to college, the museum said. The 8-inch bobblehead is on presale with an anticipated November shipping date. Each costs $30 plus shipping and taxes. One depicts the pope waving one arm, commemorating his first greeting in his new role to a crowd of over 150,000 in St. Peter's Square on May 11. Another is of him in the papal white robe called a cassock with his hands held by his chest. 'This is nuts': How Louis Prevost learned his brother became pope Pope Leo XIV was elected earlier this month after his predecessor Pope Francis died on Easter Monday. The museum also sells Francis bobbleheads for the same price. Some of the museum's best sellers include Dr. Fauci, Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sister Jean, a religious figure. Leo merch has quickly become a favorite among Catholics, Chicagoans and many more. The Chicago Sun-Times released 'Da Pope!' commemorate merchandise, including a special edition newspaper, T-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, tote bags and magnets. The popular Chicago hot dog restaurant Portillo's released 'The Leo' Italian beef sandwich as well. The White Sox announced plans to unveil a graphic installation at Rate Field to mark the location where Leo cheered for Chicago in Game 1 of the 2005 World Series. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
