DNeX bags US$1.8mil contracts to support Saudi's Makkah Routes initiative
KUALA LUMPUR: Dagang NeXchange Bhd's (DNeX) subsidiary Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd has secured US$1.8 million of contracts to support Saudi Arabia's Makkah Route initiative for the 2025 Hajj season.
The contracts cover site facilitation as well as the provision of technical and technological equipment at six international locations across Malaysia, Indonesia and Turkiye.
The designated sites include KLIA Terminal 1 (Malaysia); Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, and Adi Soemarmo Airport in Solo (Indonesia); along with Istanbul Airport and Ankara Esenboğa Airport in Turkiye.
"Leveraging the company's successful track record, full implementation for 2025 is actively progressing. DNeX has been involved in the Makkah Route project since 2019," it said in a statement.
DNeX, having secured six out of the 11 global Makkah Route sites this year, expressed confidence in winning more locations for the next Hajj season.
The company said it aims to strengthen its partnership with Elm Company, a Saudi government-owned entity under the Public Investment Fund, as they explore opportunities in transportation and security.
DNeX group chief executive officer Faizal Sham Abu Mansor said the company is proud to continue playing a role in supporting the sacred journey and easing the Hajj pilgrimage through this initiative.
"Securing the same six sites for 2025 is a testament to the trust placed by Saudi Arabia in our capabilities and commitment.
"Our ongoing collaboration with authorities in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Turkiye also reflects our dedication to operational excellence in international partnerships," he said.
