Demolition, renovation projects around Kettering
DAYTON, Ohio, (WDTN) — A number of properties across Kettering are set to be revitalized.
The former Burger King location at 1431 E. Dorothy Lane is being redeveloped into a Chilli's Wings & Fish.
Fateh Dahadha, owner of Chilli's, confirmed to that crews are currently renovating the property.
Dahadha also confirmed the new location could open within the next several months.
Chilli's Wings & Fish currently operates a location at 3103 N. Gettysburg Ave. in Dayton.
In 2024, Saint Francis Thrift Store closed its doors at 2824 Wilmington Pike.
Clothes That Work, a nonprofit organization that helps individuals during the job seeking process, is looking to move into the closed retail store, according to public building records.
Patrick Hillier, city architect and chief building official for Kettering, confirmed a demolition permit has been approved for the Wilmington Pike site, and the rest of the work is 'still in review.'
CTW operates at the Montgomery County Job Center, located at 1133 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd. in Dayton.

The Kettering City Council is expected to vote Tuesday to approve demolition services for 2335 S. Smithville Road in Kettering.
In May 2024, the Kettering Development Corporation purchased the property for $270,000, according to property records.
An agenda for the council meeting shows the cost is estimated to be $25,000, and is requested by the city's planning and development department.
The building formerly housed Van Buren Tap Room & Grille and Cadillac Jacks.
