Asda Rewards launches loyalty giveaway with prizes of up to £6,000

Asda customers are in for a treat this month, with the supermarket launching a major giveaway that could see you walking away with £6,000. To celebrate its 60th Birthday, the supermarket has launched a new 'Scan to Win' prize draw, with instant giveaways ranging from 60p to thousands of pounds to spend on food, clothing and more in store. To be in with a chance of winning, all you have to do is spend £5 or more and download the Asda Rewards app. Simply scan your rewards app at the checkout to reveal a guaranteed prize. From Thursday 1st May until Monday 30th June, customers who spend £5 or more in-store or online and scan their Asda Rewards app can earn one entry per day to reveal a guaranteed prize. The top prize available to win is £6,000, but we're afraid to say you won't be leaving the car park with a wad of cash. M&S shoppers are going wild over the return of a retro cake that disappeared in the 80s. Can you guess which? (Spoiler: it's one for the chocolate lovers). Those with a sweet tooth will also want to head to Lidl, where a new summer ice-cream range starts at just 15p. The white chocolate and pink lemonade is our pick. In less exciting news, Tesco has hiked the price of its meal deals. Meanwhile, we speak to the 'casual kleptos' who can afford food, but choose to steal from supermarkets in a rebellion against rising costs. Instead, the prize money will be added to your Asda Rewards Cashpot in the app, where it can be converted to vouchers to spend in store or online. Still, with the average family now spending £5,000 on food each year, the top prize will have your groceries covered and leave a decent chunk to splurge on clothing and homeware. Other Cashpot prizes available are worth £600, £60, £6 and 60p, as well as £60, £6 and 60p off coupons. More Trending Terms and conditions for 'Scan to Win' and a full list of products excluded from Asda Rewards can be found on As part of its birthday celebrations, Asda is also dropping the price of its 'Kids Eat for £1' meal deal in its cafes to just 60p. The deal is available in all 205 cafes for the entire month of May, including the May half term holiday. This article was first published on May 2, 2025. Do you have a story to share? Tesco urgently recalls popular cheese over fears it contains deadly bacteria

A brand of popular Swiss cheese has been urgently recalled over fears it could contain deadly bacteria. Tesco has recalled packs of 150g Le Superbe Raclette over fears it contains listeria monocytogenes, which causes the most common type of food poisoning. Listeriosis is considered dangerous to pregnant women, newborn babies, people with a weakened immune system and people aged over 65. Symptoms range from fever and muscle pain to septicemia and meningitis. The Food Standards Agency said: 'Symptoms caused by this organism can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. 'However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis.' The recall only affects Tesco customers with the best before date of May 12. Most people have none at all, or only mild lasting a few days. Usually those symptoms are similar to those of other conditions. Symptoms of listeria include: Babies may be irritable with a lower appetite A high temperature Aches and pains Chills Feeling or being sick Diarrhoea Pregnant people might have stomach ache and may notice their baby is moving less Babies may be irritable with a lower appetite Tesco said: 'If you've bought an affected product with a best before date of 12/05/25, please don't eat it. More Trending 'Instead, return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.' On Thursday, the agency said a ready-made lasagne by La Famiglia Rana was being recalled because some contained lobster meat, rather than beef. Cadbury's Dairy Milk Biscoff was ‘disappointing' — try this 10/10 bar instead

When Cadbury launched their Dairy Milk Biscoff bar, it was sure to be a match made in confectionary heaven. The iconic OG of milk chocolate, combined with a caramelised biscuit that's reached God Tier status. But fans were left 'disappointed' by the collab, saying that they 'couldn't really taste the Biscoff' and it had a 'grainy' texture. The bar was perhaps not quite what snackers had in mind, with 'crumbs' of Biscoff nestled in the milk chocolate, instead of lashings of the popular spread. Essentially, the Biscoff didn't have much oomph. But, before you head back to your Biscoff jar with a spoon, there's a delicious alternative you need to know about, In the aisles of my local Co-op, I came across Biscoff's own brand Milk Chocolate with Biscoff Spread. It might not have a punchy name, but as a long-time Biscoff lover (I was a fan when it was simply a plastic-wrapped biscuit served with your cuppa) I was intrigued. Having also been left feeling a little 'meh' by the Dairy Milk offering, I braced myself… and, the good news is, the Lotus bar did not disappoint. This Lotus bar isn't knew — having launched in August 2022 — but it's less well-known than Cadbury's offering, and availability varies from store to store. Currently, you can find it in Co-op for £3 (reduced from £3.60) and it's available online from Sainsbury's (£3.50), Morrisons (£3.50), Tesco (£3.50) and Asda (£2.98) — although you may not find it in store. And yes, while it's on the pricey side for a chocolate bar (the Dairy Milk Biscoff is currently on offer in Sainsbury's for £1) it's well worth it. The bar is basically a very thick layer of Biscoff spread encased in creamy milk chocolate, with some added crunchiness of the biscuit itself. It's chunky, at a a similar size to M&S's new Big Daddy bars. If the Cadbury version wasn't enough Biscoff for you, then this bar has it in spades. It's the overwhelming flavour by a long way, with the added kick of chocolate. Of course, it's sweet so you won't want much – but it's handily separated into squares (okay, rectangles) that actually make for a pretty decent portion. I've become pretty addicted since spotting the bars – which I give a solid 10/10 – but you don't just have to take my word for it. Fans online have also been sharing their love for Biscoff's own brand version. More Trending '100% would eat again, absolutely insane,' wrote TikToker Aimee Liggins in her review. While creator Katie Snooks said: 'I think this is going to be very, very addictive.' And reviewer Sevda Ela said: 'Very nice, worth every penny.' The bar is also available in white chocolate, which some have said is 'even better'. Do you have a story to share?
