Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta is part of India's all-party anti-terror delegation visiting five countries
Dakshina Kannada, a member of Parliament, Captain Brijesh Chowta, will be part of seven all-party delegations constituted by the Union government to carry forth India's strong message of zero-tolerance against terrorism to the world Capt. Chowta will be among an eight-member delegation led by Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Member of Parliament (DMK). This delegation will visit Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia and Russia. According to the Union Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, in the context of Operation Sindoor and India's continued fight against cross-border terrorism, seven all-party delegations are set to visit key partner countries, including members of UN Security Council later this month. The delegations will project India's national consensus and resolute approach to combating terrorism in all forms and manifestations. They would carry forth to the world the country's strong message of zero-tolerance against terrorism. Members of Parliament from different parties, prominent political personalities, and distinguished diplomats will be part of each delegation. Meanwhile, in his post on X on Sunday, May 18, Capt. Chowta said: 'My first opportunity to represent Bharat at a world forum couldn't have been better than this. As a Fauji, I am extremely proud of the way we avenged the cowardly terror attach with # OperationSindoor. And I thank the force behind it all, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving me this opportunity to be the voice of his vision and mission as part of this delegation to carry forth our strong message of #zerotolerance against #terrorism $ share how #NewIndia is different and dares to be.'

Operation Sindoor shows power of new India to world: Dakshina Kannada MP
Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament Captain Brijesh Chowta said that Operation Sindoor showed the power of the new India to the world. On May 7, Captain Chowta said that the strike against terror camps is not merely an action against terrorists. 'If anybody tries to provoke the new India, the country's response will send shock waves across the world. In just 25 minutes, the defence forces destroyed camps, including the one in which Ajmal Kasab, the terrorist involved in the Mumbai terror attack, was trained. Precision strikes, which were done using missiles, showed the strength of the new India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent out a strong message that India will not tolerate terrorists and people who support terrorists,' the MP said. Lauding the defence forces for delivering an effective message to terrorists for killing of 26 tourists in Pahalgam, Mangaluru North MLA Y. Bharath Shetty said, with the precision attacks, the government has delivered a horrific death sentence to terrorists involved in the killing of tourists. This response has sent shivers down the spine of terrorists, their sympathisers and financers working within India, he said. MLAs laud strike Mangaluru City South MLA D. Vedavyas Kamath said Pakistan, which supports terrorist attacks carried out on communal lines, will remember Operation Sindoor for a long time. Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna said that the 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led administration has delivered justice for every drop of innocent Hindu blood that was shed' in the terror attack in Pahalgam. ''By avenging the innocent lives lost in Pahalgam, the government has sent a strong message to the world that India will not tolerate terrorism,' he said. About the name of the operation, Mr. Suvarna said 'Operation Sindoor' was launched to avenge those who tried to wipe off the 'sindoor' of Hindu women. The operation was executed with utmost precision, speed and bravery. He commended National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Air Chief Marshal A. P. Singh and Naval Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi for their leadership in planning and executing the mission against the terrorists' bases. He also lauded the courage of the Indian soldiers who took part in the operation, offering his respect to them on behalf of the nation. R. Padmaraj, the Congress candidate from Dakshina Kannada constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, was also among those who lauded the defence forces.

MP pitches tech-led M'luru-Israel cooperation
Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada (DK) MP Brijesh Chowta on Tuesday met with Reuven Azar, ambassador of Israel to India, in New Delhi, and discussed deepening technological cooperation in sectors like agriculture, aquaculture, education, and water management. Guided by the Prime Minister's vision of Viksit Bharat-2047, he proposed integrating Israeli technological expertise into DK's vibrant ecosystem, ranging from agriculture to startups, with the aim of strengthening the farming community and youth with cutting-edge innovative technologies to foster sustainable economic growth. MP Chowta called for facilitating visits by Israeli agri-tech companies to the district for on-ground engagement with farmers, introducing advanced technologies such as robotics, drones, and AI-based farm management systems, and adopting Israel's globally acclaimed water management strategies to enhance irrigation and conservation practices. He also proposed exploring technology cooperation in coffee cultivation as a new, export-oriented cash crop suited to the region's climate and topography. Ambassador Azar welcomed the proposal and expressed interest in exploring areas of cooperation that align with Israel's commitment to supporting sustainable and tech-driven agriculture in India. Both sides acknowledged the potential of this partnership to serve as a national model for innovation-led rural development, stated a release.
