Bodies of 2 men recovered Sunday morning from Joe Pool Lake
The bodies of two men were recovered Sunday from a lake in Grand Prairie after falling off a boat without life vests the day before, authorities said.
A public safety dive team responded to a report of two possible drownings at Joe Pool Lake around 4: 26 p.m. May 10, according to a news release by the Grand Prairie Fire Department.
Witnesses reported that two males who were not wearing life vests fell off a boat and did not resurface, according to the release.
The dive team initiated a search until dark and resumed operations Sunday morning and recovered bodies of two men, authorities said.
The identity of the two men will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office.

'As the lake season begins, Grand Prairie Fire Department strongly encourages the public to wear a life vest or an appropriate personal flotation device while near or in the water,' the release stated.
