Fort Worth Shooting: One Dead, Two Injured In Memorial Day Homicide
The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a murder after a shooter killed one victim and wounded two others on Memorial Day weekend. Police officers responded to a shooting call in the Fairhaven neighborhood of southeast Fort Worth on May 25, according to a press release. Detectives found a shooter had wounded three victims, one of whom later died. When officers responded to the area near 4200 Carmel Ave. at 3:18 p.m., they found a victim with 'at least one gunshot wound,' according to the release. First responders took the victim to a nearby hospital 'where he was pronounced deceased.' The victim who died after the shooting is 21-year-old Alvion Ferrell Norris, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner. He died at 4:04 p.m. in the 'hospital ER' of 'multiple gunshot wounds.' His manner of death has been labeled a 'homicide.' Detectives reported the shooting victims were 'in a parked car' when the suspect approached the vehicle and 'had a brief conversation with them,' according to the release. 'The suspect produced a handgun and shot into the vehicle striking all three victims,' the release reads. The victim who later died – now identified as Norris – 'exited the vehicle to run away but collapsed a short distance from the vehicle.' The suspect then fled the scene on foot. The two other victims 'drove themselves to a local hospital' for treatment of their wounds, according to the release. 'Their condition is unknown at this time.' The Fort Worth Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating the killing. The Dallas Police Department investigated three murders that took place across the city during Memorial Day weekend, as The Dallas Express reported at the time. Fort Worth police also investigated two shooting deaths the previous week after arguments turned violent.

Second street racer in deadly South Dallas crash turns herself in: Police
The Brief The final suspect in a fatal Mother's Day street racing crash in South Dallas has surrendered to police. Sharonda Clark, 47, is charged with multiple offenses, including collision involving death, after allegedly fleeing the scene. The crash, which killed 59-year-old Jose Ambrocio Medina Soto, also involved another driver who was previously arrested. DALLAS - The final suspect in a deadly Mother's Day street racing crash in South Dallas turned herself in to police on Wednesday. The driver of the black Cadillac in the fatal crash that killed 59-year-old Jose Ambrocio Medina Soto was also the subject of Wednesday's Fox 4 Trackdown segment. The Latest Sharonda Clark, 47, has been identified as the second driver in the fatal crash after surrendering herself to police. A $5,000 reward had been offered for her arrest after she fled from the scene of the May 11 incident. Clark is now charged with collision involving serious bodily injury, collision involving death, collision involving bodily injury, racing on a highway causing serious bodily injury, racing on a highway causing death, and racing on a highway causing bodily injury. Before turning herself in, police had only surveillance images of Clark, her vehicle and her license plate number to go on in the search for the driver. Clark drove off after the crash, not stopping to help Soto, and she and her passengers were seen on video leaving the vehicle afterward. According to police, a child was left behind in the Cadillac by the occupants. Clark is being held in the Dallas County Jail on $375,000 total bond. The backstory The first driver to be arrested, 31-year-old Kadishjah Jackson, was driving a Ford Fusion while racing Clark. Police say Jackson's car flipped after striking Soto's truck, trapping her and her two passengers and killing Soto. According to an arrest warrant affidavit Fox 4 requested from Dallas County, the Fusion was traveling at around 87 mph five seconds before the crash, and around 78 mph about a second before impact. The posted speed limit where the crash happened is 30 mph. Surveillance video from a nearby business shows part of the crash. In the footage, a black Cadillac and a blue Ford Fusion appear to lose control. The Fusion crosses into oncoming traffic and hits a dark-colored pickup truck. The Cadillac is seen driving away from the scene. Jackson was hospitalized after the crash, and arrested upon her release. She is facing charges of manslaughter, aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, racing on a highway causing bodily injury and two counts of racing on a highway causing serious bodily injury. One driver, Kadijah Jackson, 31, has been charged with six felony offenses, but the driver of the black Cadillac involved is still at large. The Ford Fusion went into the southbound lanes and that's where Medina hit head-on with the Ford Fusion. Medina died from the accident at the age of 59. The driver of the Ford Fusion was identified as 31-year-old Kadijah Jackson. She's in jail and has been charged with six felony offenses. The black Cadillac continued driving north and turned left on Goldspier Drive and you see all the occupants in the vehicle get out and run back towards the scene, while leaving a child in the vehicle. Detective Shaw believes there are people in the neighborhood who can confirm the identity and location of the driver and the occupants. Nonprofit billboard draws attention to Dallas cold case murder
The Brief Family members are hoping a new billboard near Downtown Dallas will lead to tips about the 2017 disappearance of Armani Morgan. Morgan's skeletal remains were found about six weeks after his disappearance in an area about a mile away from his home. The police have been unable to solve the 8-year-old cold case. Anyone with information should contact the police or submit a tip on DALLAS - A billboard just east of Downtown Dallas is drawing attention to a cold case murder. The North Texas nonprofit and the family of Armani Morgan are hoping it leads to answers. The backstory Eight years have passed since family members last saw 27-year-old Armani Morgan. The Dallas man suddenly disappeared on June 3, 2017. His skeletal remains were discovered in Oak Cliff six weeks later. "It's affected our family in the most devastating way because it's left a deep hole in our soul," said Robin Johnson, his aunt. No suspects were ever identified. What's new Morgan's family is now working with Aaron Benzick and Solve the Case. The nonprofit organization partners with Lamar Advertising to make expensive digital billboards free to hurting families. In Morgan's case, there is now a billboard visible to hundreds of thousands of eyes each day along Interstate 30 eastbound near Peak Street. It's exposure that his family would not be able to afford on their own. What they're saying Benzick said Solve the Case work to keep cold cases alive. "Solve the Case is an organization that's designed to help people just like Robin and her family. What we do is try to help promote so these cases will not be forgotten," he said. "It's only going to take that one witness to come forward and provide that big break in Armani's case, which is what we're hoping and praying for," Johnson said. She's hoping that someone who may have been reluctant to come forward initially will be more willing to now that time has passed. "Please come forward. Armani's mom deserves answers. Our family deserves answers. We want justice for Armani, which he rightfully deserves," she said. Police seek driver in fatal street racing crash in Dallas
Authorities are seeking assistance in identifying the driver of a black 2006 Cadillac STS believed to have been involved in a fatal street racing crash over the weekend in Dallas. Officers responded to the scene around 7:40 p.m. Sunday in the 5000 block of Second Avenue, where the crash occurred during an apparent illegal race, according to the Dallas Police Department. Dallas Police Department Investigators said the driver of the Cadillac, who fled the scene and remains unidentified, was involved in a collision that killed a motorist not participating in the race. According to police, a pickup truck was traveling south when a northbound vehicle, racing another car, crossed into the southbound lanes and struck the truck, killing its driver. Dallas Police Department On Wednesday, police released images of the suspect vehicle. It is described as a black 2006 Cadillac STS with Texas license plate RWF-3633, a yellow pinstripe along its sides, and damage to the rear left quarter panel. Anyone with information about the vehicle or its driver is asked to contact Detective Sammy Shaw at 214-608-7813 or or Detective Gregory Valtadoros at The Vehicle Crimes Division can also be reached at 214-670-5817.
