Dan Moore on Titans committing to him: I want to prove them damn right

The Titans entered free agency in the market for a left tackle, and there weren't many great options. That's why they gave Dan Moore Jr. a four-year, $82 million deal. It ranks as one of the most surprising deals of free agency and one of the most high-risk, considering Moore's $20.5 million annual average is tied for sixth at his position. Moore knows to whom much is given, much is expected. 'Obviously, I want to exceed expectations,' Moore said Thursday, via Jim Wyatt of the team website. 'But it's not only about proving the team right, it's about proving myself right. I feel like my expectations will always be higher than anyone else's are for me. I feel like by meeting my expectations, I'll exceed the team's expectations. 'So, not only do I want to prove them right, I want to prove them damn right, where [they're thinking]: 'We got our guy. He didn't just do what we needed him to do, he did that and more.' That is the consensus I want in the organization.' Moore is a big piece in the Titans' remake of their offensive line. His signing moves JC Latham, the Titans' first-round pick in 2024, to right tackle. Peter Skoronski, another first-rounder, will play left guard, with Lloyd Cushenberry at center and Kevin Zeitler, another free agent signee, at right guard. Moore, 26, entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick of the Steelers in 2021, and he started 66 of a possible 68 games at left tackle in his time in Pittsburgh. But the Steelers moved on for a reason, as Moore allowed a career-worst 12 sacks in 2024, per Pro Football Focus. But his age and his experience has the Titans — and Moore — excited about his future. 'Every year I feel like I have progressed and have gotten better each offseason. That's something I take pride in,' Moore said. 'Obviously, Pittsburgh wouldn't have had me as the starting left tackle the last four years if not. I think this past season I was able to tap into some things that I wasn't able to in the past, just being an older guy, things slowing down for me, things happening more naturally for me. I really feel the game is coming to me now.'

2025 Tennessee Titans free agency: Experts, insiders offer mixed grades

2025 Tennessee Titans free agency: Experts, insiders offer mixed grades The Tennessee Titans have been busy over the first week of free agency, specifically addressing the offensive line. They also added much-needed depth at several positions as new general manager Mike Borgonzi is making major changes in his first offseason. While these moves were needed, there is a lot of work left to be done. The Titans remain extremely thin at edge and wide receiver and still have questions all over the roster. For the most part, the Titans have received mixed reviews for their work during the first week of free agency. But, as many in the industry have pointed out, there are still major holes to be filled. Here's a quick snapshot of the Titans' free agency grades after the first week. USA TODAY: B The Titans needed to fix their offensive line after having trouble on the right side last season. Tennessee remedied that by signing left tackle Dan Moore Jr. to a four-year, $82 million contract. The deal was an overpay but will allow 2024 first-round pick JC Latham to move to the right side. Latham and veteran free-agent signing Kevin Zeitler will do a much better job on the right side than what Tennessee had last season, while Moore should be serviceable on the left side. The Titans also signed reasonable deals with defensive lineman Dre'Mont Jones, linebacker Cody Barton and safety Xavier Woods, so this has been a solid overall free-agent period for first-year general manager Mike Borgonzi. The Titans spent big here on Moore, making him one of the 10 highest-paid tackles in the league. While he's coming off the best season of his career, the former Steeler still hasn't been one of the 40 highest-graded tackles at any point in his first four years. Tennessee is hoping that the 26-year-old is just beginning to reach his potential while also allowing their 2024 first-round pick, JC Latham, to switch back to his collegiate position of right tackle. If Dan Moore Jr. helps the offensive line, then the grade goes up. That's a lot of money to pay for him. It's hard to see Moore or Cody Barton having a huge impact. CBS Sports: C The Titans are still mulling taking a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick, but whoever is under center for them will have new protection on the blindside. On Monday, Tennessee landed left tackle Dan Moore Jr. on a four-year, $82 million deal. This signing now affords Tennessee to move JC Latham back to his more familiar right tackle position (which he played in college). Maybe Moore isn't worth all that money, but the Titans had to do something to improve on the offensive line. They doubled down on offensive line improvement on Wednesday with the one-year signing of 35-year-old Pro Bowl center Kevin Zeitler. Perhaps quarterback Cam Ward is up next with the first overall pick? Pro Football Network: B The Tennessee Titans have been relatively quiet so far in free agency. They cut Harold Landry III and saw him join their former head coach in New England. Cutting a talented player is naturally never ideal, and the Titans will have a hard time replacing Landry's production potential in 2025. Their biggest moves have been on the offensive line, where the Titans have signed Dan Moore Jr. and Kevin Zeitler. Moore's arrival allows JC Latham to play his more natural right tackle position, while Zeitler should form a strong guard tandem with Peter Skoronski. Suddenly, last year's 28th-ranked offensive line by PFSN's rankings looks like a potential strength. With around $60 million in cap space, there has to be more to come in terms of their offseason. There is a chance they are waiting to see how the quarterback market falls to determine their next set of moves. If they add a veteran quarterback, they could then push for some win-now type options, but if they have to start again with a rookie quarterback, they may look to carry over as much cap space as possible into 2026. The improvement offered by the Moore-Latham bookends is mitigated by losing a player as talented as Landry. The Moore signing is exciting, and a step in the right direction, but the rest of the offseason has been uninspiring. Dre'Mont Jones was solid in Denver but failed to live up to expectations in Seattle. Production has been a concern, but he should be a rotational piece for a unit that needs depth up front. The Sporting News: C The Titans look headed to getting franchise quarterback Cam Ward in the draft ahead of also loading up on front-seven defensive help. Zeitler and Moore add to their offensive line re-working for Brian Callahan. This article will be updated as more grades and analysis are made available.

Tennessee Titans free agency tracker live updates: Free agent signings, top NFL players available

The NFL free agency window is open, and the Tennessee Titans are among the league's most active and intriguing teams to follow. As of 3 p.m. CT on Wednesday, NFL teams were able to begin signing free agents who formerly played for other teams. Possessing more than $50 million in salary cap space and with plenty of needs across the entire roster, the Titans have the flexibility and the necessity to be major players in these markets. The Titans began the free agency window by making big moves to bring in offensive linemen like Dan Moore Jr., and Kevin Zeitler, as well as defenders like Dre'Mont Jones and Cody Barton. The Titans also made a trade to move linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for moving up 51 picks on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft. Follow along below throughout the week as the Tennessee Titans and the rest of the NFL navigate the early days of free agency. MOCK DRAFT: Tennessee Titans 7-round mock draft: Priorities shift after NFL free agency ― but not at QB ESTES: Focus on what these Tennessee Titans are doing, not what they are saying TOP TITANS NEEDS: 1 NFL free agent at every position who Tennessee Titans need to sign for 2025 Here are the top 25 free agents who remain unsigned, per WR Amari Cooper CB Asante Samuel Jr. OT Cam Robinson WR Stefon Diggs OG Teven Jenkins DL Calais Campbell OLB Azeez Ojulari OG Mekhi Becton QB Jameis Winston QB Russell Wilson OLB Dante Fowler Jr DE Charles Omenihu RB J.K. Dobbins OLB Za'Darius Smith S Justin Simmons DB Stephon Gilmore LB Kyzir White CB Rasul Douglas WR Elijah Moore OG Brandon Scherff WR Keenan Allen WR Cooper Kupp S Julian Blackmon OT Tyron Smith DB Mike Hilton Per ESPN and NFL Network, the Titans are adding veteran guard Kevin Zeitler to complete their offensive line. Zeitler is a 13-year vet who's played for a lot of winning football teams lately, having spent his recent years in Baltimore and Detroit. Now the Titans can slot him in at right guard alongside tackles Dan Moore Jr., and JC Latham, guard Peter Skoronski and center Lloyd Cushenberry III and feel pretty good about their starting five without having to worry about the NFL draft. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Titans are in the process of trading linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr., to the Dallas Cowboys for an undisclosed "pick swap" of NFL draft selections. Free agents who have agreed to contracts in the last two-plus days can now officially sign with teams beyond their former squad. Expect announcements to begin trickling in confirming some of the news that's been reported since Monday, but don't expect all of it to come all at once. A source told The Tennessee on Wednesday the Titans don't expect many (or any) of their free agent adds to rush into Nashville this afternoon to sign contracts as soon as allowed. The announcements should come shortly, but they can't come until contracts are officially signed. So don't get anxious, but also don't expect all that many major press releases to come from Titans HQ this afternoon. Marcus Mariota, who was once the centerpiece of a Tennessee Titans rebuild, will not be a part of a second Titans rebuild. NFL Network is reporting that Mariota will return to D.C. to be the backup quarterback for the Washington Commanders for a second-straight year. Mariota will reportedly sign a one-year, $8 million deal. The Titans have still not signed a quarterback through the early days of free agency. ESPN's Mike Clay is updating his unit rankings and season projections live based off NFL free agency moves. Taking a look at the Titans... it's not good. Based on the early free agency moves according to Clay's algorithm, the Titans have the worst weighted roster in the NFL. That includes having the 29th-ranked offense and 26th-ranked defense. The edge rusher unit is tied for the worst in the league and their quarterback projections rank ahead of only Cleveland and the New York Giants. That said, the defensive interior is tied for the best in the league and the cornerbacks are ranked among the league's best. The Titans are bringing in offensive lineman Blake Hance, a veteran who's played all three offensive line positions in his career, most recently for the Jacksonville Jaguars. A source tells The Tennessean that Hance will be given the opportunity to compete for a starting role but is also an option to be a rotational sixth-man piece who backs up the starters. Hance has worked with Titans offensive line coach Bill Callahan in both Washington and Cleveland, starting eight games for the Commanders in 2021, and worked with offensive coordinator Nick Holz in Jacksonville in 2023, where he played in all 17 games and started one. Several former Titans are still free agents. This doesn't rule out the possibility that the Titans can bring them back, but it also doesn't mean the Titans will bring them back. Here's the list of Titans from 2024 who haven't found contracts yet: LB Jerome Baker OL Daniel Brunskill WR Tyler Boyd LB Chance Campbell RB Julius Chestnut DT Marlon Davidson S Quandre Diggs K Nick Folk LB Jack Gibbens DB Justin Hardee RB Joshua Kelley OL Corey Levin DL James Lynch DL T.K. McLendon Jr. LB Raekwon McMillan OL Dillon Radunz QB Mason Rudolph P Ryan Stonehouse TE Nick Vannett LB Garret Wallow DB Daryl Worley Van Jefferson, a five-year NFL veteran who most recently played with the Pittsburgh Steelers, will be joining the Titans' receiver room per a source. Jefferson's dad Shawn was the Titans' receivers coach from 2013-15 and Jefferson went to high school at Ravenwood. After putting up 802 yards and six touchdowns in 2021, Jefferson hasn't surpassed 400 yards or 25 catches in any of the three seasons since. As the Titans head into the third day of NFL free agency, with teams eligible to begin signing players this afternoon at 3 p.m. CT, the team has still not addressed its major needs at quarterback, wide receiver, edge rusher and guard. Here are some of the top candidates to help address those needs: Quarterback: Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Mac Jones, Jameis Winston, Joe Flacco, Desmond Ridder, Tyler Huntley, Mason Rudolph, Gardner Minshew, Cooper Rush, Drew Lock, Trey Lance, Marcus Mariota, Carson Wentz Wide receiver: Stefon Diggs, Tyler Lockett, Keenan Allen, Amari Cooper, Diontae Johnson, Mike Williams, Elijah Moore, Brandin Cooks, Tyler Boyd, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Rondale Moore, DJ Chark, Tim Patrick, Noah Brown, Nelson Agholor, Van Jefferson, Olamide Zaccheau, Devin Duvernay, Mecole Hardman Guard: Kevin Zeitler, Will Hernandez, Matt Pryor, Teven Jenkins, Brandon Scherff, Shaq Mason, Greg Van Roten, Mekhi Becton, Dalton Risner, Lucas Patrick, Dillon Radunz Edge rusher: Za'Darius Smith, Brandon Graham, Demarcus Walker, Von Miller, Demarcus Lawrence, Azeez Ojulari, Dante Fowler Jr., Emmanuel Ogbah, Charles Omenihu, Preston Smith, Carl Lawson, Matt Judon, Josh Uche Here are the top 25 free agents who remain unsigned a little bit after 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening, per WR Amari Cooper CB Asante Samuel Jr. OT Cam Robinson WR Stefon Diggs OG Teven Jenkins DT Levi Onwuzurike TE Evan Engram DL Calais Campbell C Josh Myers OL Kevin Zeitler OLB Azeez Ojulari OLB Demarcus Lawrence OG Mekhi Becton QB Jameis Winston QB Russell Wilson DE Joey Bosa OLB Dante Fowler Jr. OLB Charles Omenihu RB J.K. Dobbins RB Rico Dowdle DE Za'Darius Smith WR Mike Williams S Justin Simmons CB Stephon Gilmore LB Kyzir White Multiple media outlets are reporting that veteran receiver DeAndre Hopkins, formerly of the Tennessee Titans will be signing with the Baltimore Ravens on a 1-year deal. In doing so, Hopkins will reunite with former Titans teammate Derrick Henry, one of the star players on the Ravens' dominant offense. Call it a double gut-punch for Titans fans. A source confirmed to The Tennessean on Tuesday that the team is bringing in veteran safety Xavier Woods to help in their back end. Woods will join Amani Hooker and Mike Brown as the deep defenders in the secondary. Woods played a career year with 119 tackles and three interceptions last season, both either setting or matching career highs. A source confirmed to The Tennessean that the Titans did not tender restricted free agent linebacker Jack Gibbens, who has been a rotational starter for the Titans over the past two seasons. This will make Gibbens an unrestricted free agent who is free to sign elsewhere in the same way that Ryan Stonehouse is. Wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, one of the only constants in Titans football over the last five years, is with the team no more. NFL Network is reporting that Westbrook-Ikhine is signing a two-year contract with the Miami Dolphins for $6.5 million total. That's not a huge contract, and certainly one that the Titans could've stomached, so it'll be interesting to see what the Titans' plans are at wide receiver without the player who's played more games than any Titan over the last five seasons. Jacoby Brissett, one of the most sought-after journeyman backup quarterbacks in the league, will reportedly be signing with the Arizona Cardinals as Kyler Murray's backup. That takes another backup quarterback off the market for the Titans, who head into the third day of free agency with only one quarterback on roster: Will Levis. Johnny Hekker, a six-time All Pro and four-time Pro Bowl punter, will replace Ryan Stonehouse as the Titans' next punter, per a report from ESPN. Hekker and Titans special teams coordinator John Fassel have history together, having worked together with the Rams from 2012-19. Justin Reid, one of the best available players at any position, will reportedly sign with the New Orleans Saints per ESPN. More than just being one of the best players available, Reid is also one of the best players available at a major position of need for the Titans. With Reid, Jevon Holland, Trevon Moehrig and Talanoa Hufanga all signing elsewhere, the Titans' options are limited in the back end. Former Titans linebacker and special teams specialist Luke Gifford is signing a one-year contract with the 49ers, per NFL Network. Gifford made 55 tackles in two seasons with the Titans, including being the team's leader in special teams tackles in 2024. The Titans are bringing back safety Mike Brown via a contract extension. Brown has been with the team since 2022 and has started five games. Last season he appeared in all 17 games and made 49 tackles. He joins Amani Hooker as the rostered safeties the Titans have under contract. Stonehouse, one of the best and most productive punters in the NFL, will become an unrestricted free agent as the Titans are choosing not to extend him a tender on his restricted free agent contract, Stonehouse's agent confirmed to The Tennessean. There goes one of the best players the Titans had. His 2024 was a little bit down compared to 2022 and 2023 coming off the knee injury he sustained the previous year. But he still averaged more than 50 yards per punt and set some of his best marks when it came to avoiding touchbacks. Now the Titans can add "need a punter" to their growing list of holes. The Titans have only agreed to deals with three non-returning players through the first 30ish hours of free agency negotiations. How's that compare to the rest of the league? Well... there are plenty of other teams that have had slow starts to free agency. Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Denver, the Chargers, Philadelphia, Washington, Detroit, Green Bay, Atlanta, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Arizona, the Rams and Seattle have all brought in fewer newcomers than the Titans via free agency, though some of those teams have infused talent into their roster via trades. The Titans are roughly league average so far having made three moves. The difference? The Titans don't have a roughly league average roster. They're leaving a lot of talent on the table so far without much talent under contract. Here are the three best players left at every position in free agency, per USA TODAY's rankings: Quarterback: Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston Running back: J.K. Dobbins, Nick Chubb, Rico Dowdle Wide receiver: Amari Cooper, Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen Tight end: Evan Engram, Juwan Johnson, Tyler Conklin Offensive tackle: Cam Robinson, Jedrick Wills, D.J. Humphries Guard: Mekhi Becton, Teven Jenkins, Brandon Scherff Center: Josh Myers, Andre James, Coleman Shelton Edge rushers: Joey Bosa, Dante Fowler Jr., Demarcus Lawrence Defensive line: Calais Campbell, Larry Ogunjobi, Laken Tomlinson Inside linebacker: Denzel Perryman, Kyzir White, E.J. Speed Cornerback: Rasul Douglas, Mike Hilton, Stephon Gilmore Safety: Justin Reid, Justin Simmons, Juan Thornhill Kristian Fulton, a former Titans cornerback who spent 2024 with the Los Angeles Chargers, is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs per reports. Fulton struggled with injuries throughout his Titans tenure but set new career highs for games played in 2024, giving him the opportunity to land with Kansas City. Funnily enough, Fulton's role could end up being as a replacement for L'Jarius Sneed, who the Titans replaced Fulton with in 2024. The Titans haven't addressed all too many of their needs through free agency, and that's hardly a surprise. The Titans say they want to be a draft-and-develop team, so they'll put the impetus on the rookies and coaches to find talent. That said, there's no world where the Titans can fix all their holes with one NFL draft. So expect the team to be a little more active as free agency goes on. Here's a smattering of some of the best players left at the Titans' biggest areas of need: Wide receiver: Stefon Diggs, Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen, Tyler Lockett, Elijah Moore, Brandin Cooks, Rondale Moore, Zay Jones, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Van Jefferson, Olamide Zaccheaus, Devin Duvernay, Mecole Hardman Offensive guard: Kevin Zeitler, Will Hernandez, Teven Jenkins, Brandon Scherff, Matt Pryor, Mekhi Becton, Dalton Risner, Dillon Radunz Edge rusher: Joey Bosa, Za'Darius Smith, Von Miller, Demarcus Lawrence, Azeez Ojulari, Dante Fowler Jr., Emmanuel Ogbah, Charles Omenihu, Preston Smith, Carl Lawson, Matt Judon, Josh Uche Safety: Justin Reid, Julian Blackmon, Justin Simmons, Xavier Woods, Jordan Poyer, Quandre Diggs, Vonn Bell, Marcus Maye ESPN and NFL Network are reporting that the Indianapolis Colts are signing former New York Giants starter Daniel Jones as a quarterback option. Jones will compete with Anthony Richardson on that Colts' roster, bolstering coach Shane Steichen's offensive unit. The list of backup quarterback options available is still strong, but Jones was one of the strongest candidates. After trading away star left tackle Laremy Tunsil Monday, the Texans traded away another starting offensive linemen on Tuesday. The Titans' division rival are shipping guard Kenyon Green to the Super Bowl champs in Philadelphia in exchange for defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson and a pick swap. Let's use this trade as an opportunity to check in on the Titans' compatriots in the AFC South. Houston hasn't been particularly active with bringing in new players; the biggest names they've brought in are WR Braxton Berrios and DL Sheldon Rankins. Jacksonville has been more aggressive, using the money they found by moving on from veterans like Evan Engram and Christian Kirk to bring in CB Jourdan Lewis and offensive linemen Patrick Mekari and Robert Hainsey. The Colts have invested in their secondary, bringing in Cam Bynum and Charvarius Ward, but this. has been at the expense of losing offensive linemen Will Fries and Ryan Kelly. Who's left for the Titans on the quarterback market? Here are the most prominent unsigned quarterbacks as Tuesday's signings start heating up: Aaron Rodgers Russell Wilson Daniel Jones Jameis Winston Joe Flacco Marcus Mariota Trey Lance Mac Jones Jacoby Brissett There are other options, such as Kirk Cousins, who the Atlanta Falcons could release but haven't publicly said they want to. And, obviously, the Titans have choices at the top of the NFL draft, starting with Miami's Cam Ward. Will Fries, one of the top interior offensive linemen left on the market, will be signing a massive contract with the Minnesota Vikings per multiple reports. The Vikings are pretty active in the free agent market after missing out on Sam Darnold, as they're also reportedly bringing in defensive linemen Jonathan Allen and Javon Kinlaw. Reports surfaced late last week that the Titans had interest in signing former Miami Dolphins safety Jevon Holland, but Holland will be heading farther north. Multiple national media sources are reporting that Holland is signing with the New York Giants on a three-year, $45 million deal to make him one of the richest safeties in the league. Plenty of big names are still signable on the market 24 hours into the NFL negotiation window. Here are the 25 best players who remain unsigned per WR Amari Cooper S Jevon Holland (reportedly signing with New York Giants) OG Will Fries (reportedly signing with Minnesota Vikings) CB Asante Samuel Jr. S Justin Reid OT Cam Robinson WR Stefon Diggs OG Teven Jenkins DT Javon Hargrave (reportedly signing with Minnesota Vikings) DT Levi Onwuzurike TE Evan Engram DL Calais Campbell C Josh Myers OG Kevin Zeitler CB Kristian Fulton (reportedly signing with Kansas City Chiefs) OLB Azeez Ojulari OLB Demarcus Lawrence DL Jonathan Allen (reportedly signing with Minnesota Vikings) G Mekhi Becton QB Jameis Winston QB Russell Wilson DE Joey Bosa OLB Dante Fowler Jr. OLB Charles Omenihu RB J.K. Dobbins Former Titans coach Mike Vrabel and his New England Patriots have been the busiest team on the market Monday. The Patriots have reportedly agreed to terms with DT Milton Williams, CB Carlton Davis, LB Robert Spillane, OLB Harold Landry III, OT Morgan Moses, DL Khyiris Tonga, QB Joshua Dobbs and WR Mack Hollins. Williams, Davis, Spillane and Landry all ranked among the top 65 free agents available coming into the week per ESPN and NFL Network are reporting that former first-round pick Zach Wilson, who played for the Denver Broncos last year, is signing with the Miami Dolphins to be Tua Tagovailoa's backup. Wilson previously started for the New York Jets, who selected him No. 2 overall in 2021. The Titans will be bringing in linebacker Cody Barton, formerly of Seattle, Washington and Denver, on a three-year contract worth $21 million per NFL Network. Barton, 28, started 14 games for the Broncos last season, totaling 106 tackles. He's logged at least 100 tackles each of the last three seasons, albeit for three different teams. The best players remaining on the market after five hours of NFL free agency, as ranked by CB Charvarius Ward WR Amari Cooper CB Byron Murphy Jr. LB Dre Greenlaw S Jevon Holland OG Will Fries CB Asante Samuel Jr. S Justin Reid OT Cam Robinson WR Stefon Diggs OG Teven Jenkins DT Javon Hargrave DT Levi Onwuzurike TE Evan Engram DL Calais Campbell OL Josh Myers OL Kevin Zeitler DE Chase Young WR Darius Slayton CB Kristian Fulton OLB Azeez Ojulari OLB Demarcus Lawrence RB Najee Harris DL Jonathan Allen OL Mekhi Becton Per national reports, the Houston Texans are trading five-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders. The Texans are receiving a third-round pick this year and second- and fourth-round picks in 2026, while the Commanders are receiving Tunsil and a fourth-round pick, per NFL Network. This trade reinforces the fact that Houston needs to rebuild its offensive line to protect young quarterback C.J. Stroud, and should get the Titans excited about their options if and when they rebuild their pass rush units. Long snapper Morgan Cox, offensive lineman Andrew Rupcich and cornerback Darrell Baker Jr., are all returning to the Titans per team announcements. Baker and Rupcich were exclusive rights free agents, meaning the team would've had the right to match or counter any offer made to these players if they hit the free market. Instead, they return to the Titans to resume their reserve roles. Aaron Banks, one of the top interior offensive linemen available, is signing with the Green Bay Packers per a report from NFL Network. Patrick Mekari, another guard prospect who could've helped the Titans up front, is reportedly signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars. With the Titans signing Dan Moore at tackle, the money might be thin to also devote to finding a starting guard. But there are plenty of other options available for short-term deals, including veterans like Kevin Zeitler and Brandon Scherff and younger players like Will Fries. A source confirmed to The Tennessean that Titans defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day will be resigning with the team. Joseph-Day was a starter on the Titans' defensive line along with Jeffery Simmons and T'Vondre Sweat, and now he'll return for more depth in a unit that also returns Keondre Coburn. Former Eagles pass rusher Josh Sweat is signing a four-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals per reports, taking one of the top free agent players and the best regarded pass rusher on the market off the board. After Sweat, some of the top pass rushers remaining include Joey Bosa, Za'Darius Smith and Chase Young. NFL Network and ESPN are reporting that Justin Fields is making the jump from Pittsburgh to New York to replace Aaron Rodgers as the new quarterback of the New York Jets. Fields never made much sense as a fit in the Titans' offense, but that's another domino falling that makes clearer what the Titans' plans can be at quarterback in 2025. The Seattle Seahawks have reportedly agreed to terms with quarterback Sam Darnold, taking the top free agent quarterback off the market for the Titans. Darnold is reportedly signing a three-year deal worth $100.5 million. The Titans' options for starting-caliber QBs still available in free agency include Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers and Justin Fields. NFL Network is reporting that Milton Williams, the top defensive tackle on the market and one of the top defensive players overall, is signing with the New England Patriots. Mike Vrabel is spending the Patriots' large supply of salary cap money available to rebuild the team in his image, and now he adds a player who helped as one of the engines of Philadelphia's Super Bowl winning defense. The New York Giants are reportedly bringing in Paulson Adebo from New Orleans while former Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis is heading to Jacksonville and New England is bringing in Carlton Davis, formerly of Detroit. These top defensive backs comprise most of the top of the market. Continuing New England's big day of spending, Mike Vrabel's squad is also bringing in veteran offensive tackle Morgan Moses, pulling him across the division from the New York Jets. The Titans are reportedly bringing in Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Dan Moore on a four-year, $82 million contract. Moore has started 66 games for the Steelers in the last four seasons and now joins 2024 first-round pick JC Latham as the Titans' bookend tackles. Moore has almost exclusively played left tackle since entering the league, creating intrigue about whether Latham will stick at left tackle or move back to right tackle, where he played in college. The Patriots are adding linebacker Robert Spillane, an undrafted free agent who the Titans signed in 2018. Spillane made his NFL debut with the Titans that season, playing in two games in Vrabel's first season as Titans coach. He's gone on to bigger and better things in the years since and now reunites with Vrabel (and fellow Class of 2018 Titans linebacker Harold Landry III) in New England. Jimmy Garoppolo is staying with the Los Angeles Rams per a report NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, taking away the first veteran quarterback option from the Titans. The interior defensive line market wasn't super stacked this season, and some of the biggest names are already finding homes. Kinlaw is joining the Washington Commanders, and Hill is re-signing with the Cincinnati Bengals per reports. Some of the biggest names who've come off the market in the first minutes of the free agency window include receiver Chris Godwin, who is resigning with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and offensive linemen Jaylon Moore and Drew Dalman. Dalman, a center, is reportedly signing with the Chicago Bears. And Moore, a tackle who's primarily been a reserve in San Francisco, is signing a big contract to play for the Kansas City Chiefs. The negotiation window is officially open, meaning teams can begin extending offers to players who will become free agents on Wednesday. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the first big move of the day, with former New York Jets pass rusher Hasson Reddick going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a one-year deal. Arguably the biggest-named edge rusher on the market, Khalil Mack appears to have never reached the market at all. Mack will be resigning with the Chargers per multiple media reports. The deal is reportedly for one year and $18 million. NFL insider Aaron Wilson is reporting the Titans have resigned free agent long snapper Morgan Cox to a one-year deal. Cox has been the Titans' long snapper since 2021 and was a Pro Bowler in 2022. Cox, 38, is a five-time Pro Bowler. Before the free agency window opens Monday, gigantic NFL news shook up the market over the weekend. This included major Seattle Seahawks trades that sent quarterback Geno Smith to Las Vegas and receiver DK Metcalf to Pittsburgh, the Cleveland Browns finding the money to make defensive end Myles Garrett the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history and the Los Angeles Rams inking a deal with star receiver Davante Adams. Pertinent to the Titans, the Ravens brought back left tackle Ronnie Stanley, the Chiefs re-signed linebacker Nick Bolton and former Titans linebacker Harold Landry III signed a deal to reunite with former Titans coach Mike Vrabel and play for the New England Patriots. The Titans' biggest needs this offseason are quarterback, right tackle, pass rusher, wide receiver and right guard. The team also could use help at safety, inside linebacker and interior defensive line, and could be looking for depth pieces at tight end and running back. The Titans own the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, as well as pick No. 35 in the second round. First-year general manager Mike Borgonzi and president of football operations Chad Brinker have spoken extensively about wanting to practice patience and selectiveness in free agency instead of targeting the top players available at all positions of need and spending big sums to attract them to Nashville. MOCK DRAFT 4.0: 2025 NFL mock draft: Tennessee Titans pick becomes clearer following NFL combine The quarterback market figures to be as active as it has been in recent memory. Darnold escaped into free agency without being franchise-tagged by the Minnesota Vikings, making him the top passer on the board. But Rodgers and Wilson will be attractive options for teams looking for short-term options, and several other starter-caliber or priority backup options will be available. The market could get even more dense if the Atlanta Falcons decide to move on from veteran Kirk Cousins. Combine those possibilities with the fact that quarterbacks like Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders will be available in the draft and there may be more available starting-caliber quarterbacks than there are teams with needs, a huge reality for the Titans.
