Now, a video has been shared to reveal how he kills time when a race is delayed or he has some time to kill. It seems he loves playing video games and was seen playing one during a race delay. Dan Ticktum spotted playing Metaphor on his mobile phone Formula E has revealed how Cupra Kiro driver Dan Ticktum keeps himself entertained during race delays. A video shows Ticktum sitting in the car while waiting for the race to start and killing time by playing a game on his mobile phone. The video hints that someone, probably Oliver Rowland, was heard saying, 'Is he playing Call of Duty? Haha hahaha legend.' Ticktum himself revealed in the comments section that he was playing Metaphor. A fan commented on the video, 'Genuinely cool team for letting him do that. This is how you keep a driver happy.' Ticktum responded to the fan, saying, 'Absolutely.' When another asked, 'Is that Metaphor?' Ticktum replied, 'Yes lol.' A fan wrote, 'Bro I think he got a little bit distracted.' Another said, 'Classic tickboom.' One more said, 'Dan is bored and bored is dan. This is the most ticktum thing to ever happened.' A fan agreed with Ticktum, saying, 'gotta keep entertained mate.' A comment also read: 'He can give you a million excuses for why F1 never worked out for him. But this video is a reason.' Dan Ticktum also made headlines recently for responding to George Russell's remark when the Mercedes driver hinted at him for being the only one who deliberately hit a co-participant in a race. Ticktum said in a recorded message, 'Number one, thank you for the free publicity. We'll take that any day of the week. And two, while what Max did today was a little bit sceptical, to be likened to him at any point in my career is a positive if you ask me. Goodbye." Ticktum responded to Russell's remark by thanking him for 'free publicity' and likening himself to none other than Verstappen, who is currently the reigning number 1 champion in Formula 1. George Russell hinted at Dan Ticktum while commenting on Spanish Grand Prix incident Red Bull driver Max Verstappen was handed a 10-second penalty during the race and a three-point penalty on his licence for hitting George Russell's Mercedes during the Spanish Grand Prix. One more mistake and he can face a one-race ban. When Russell was asked if he had seen any other driver do such a thing, he told the media, "Not in Formula 1. Maybe in Formula E. It has come to my attention via the Twittersphere that a certain driver in Formula 1 - not to name names but his name is George Russell - has made some rather choice comments about a certain Formula E driver. ' Thanking Russell for the mention, he further said, "He hasn't named my name, but it's quite obviously pointed at me. We'd like to address those comments that he made I believe on the team radio. Number one, thank you for the free publicity. We'll take that any day of the week. And two, while what Max did today was a little bit sceptical, to be likened to him at any point in my career is a positive if you ask me. Goodbye." Formula E driver Dan Ticktum has swiped back after George Russell stated nobody else would copy Max Verstappen 's deliberate collision in Spain – apart from 'one British driver in Formula E.' Russell and his car escaped unscathed after Verstappen rammed into the Mercedes in the closing stages of the Spanish GP on Sunday. Russell finished fourth, while Verstappen was demoted from fifth to tenth after receiving a 10-second time penalty. Asked after the race if anybody else would drive deliberately into another car, 27-year-old Russell replied: 'Not in Formula 1. Maybe in Formula E. Yes, maybe there's one British driver in Formula E. But as I said, Max is one of the best in the world.' With the clear implication that the racer in question was 25-year-old Ticktum, the Kiro Race driver responded on his Instagram story in amusing fashion late on Sunday. 'It has come to my attention, via the Twittersphere, that a certain driver in Formula One, not to name names, but his name is George Russell, has made some rather choice comments about a certain Formula E driver,' Ticktum said, after finishing 16th in the second Shanghai ePrix race on Sunday. Russell raced against Ticktum in karting, GP3 and Formula 2, before moving up to F1 in 2019 having won the F2 championship in 2018. Known for his outspoken manner in interviews and on team radio, Ticktum raced in F2 in 2018, 2020 and 2021, finishing fourth in his final season, before moving up to Formula E in 2022. Ticktum recorded his first podium, in Tokyo, last month.

Dan Ticktum on the wait before his first podium: 'It's been pretty depressing few years'

The 25-year-old from London, finally secured a place on the Formula E podium at the Tokyo E-Prix Round 9 on Sunday, finishing third in the race. It took Ticktum 57 starts and two previous top-five finishes to finally clinch a podium finish. Reflecting on the achievement, he acknowledged the tough journey that preceded it. Dan Ticktum is happy after his podium finish in Tokyo "It's been a pretty depressing few years I have to say up until this point," said Dan Ticktum. "In the last few races, we've sort of managed to get things in the window far more consistently which has given us a lot more confidence. We've still got a lot of people who were there when I first joined and I'm just really happy to reward them with something like this, to be the guy to do that for them is great," he added. The podium finish was not just a personal milestone for Ticktum but also a significant moment for his team, Kiro Race Co, who are gradually making their mark in the Formula E paddock. "I also appreciate everyone's support for voting me [PIF] Driver of the Day and all that kind of stuff — seems like not everyone hates me," he added. "I'm happy. I feel like this year, like the team and the championship — you know, the CEO Jeff (Dodds) and a few other people — are supporting my character a bit more and I'm just enjoying it a lot more, not only just the results are coming. The team understands me as a character and I have my rough edges here. I'm happy being me and if that isn't employable for other people then so be it." What's next in Formula E? Formula E now shifts to Shanghai, with the next rounds scheduled for Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, 2025. Ticktum will be eyeing another podium finish, aiming to continue his upward trajectory. He joined the Red Bull Junior Team in 2017 and went on to win the Macau Grand Prix in both 2017 and 2018. After a stint in Super Formula in 2019, Ticktum moved to the Williams Driver Academy, parting ways with Red Bull, and remained there until 2021.
