Gambler celebrating birthday bets 88 cents on slots and wins jackpot in Florida
A gambler ended up with 'an amazing birthday present' after winning a slot machine jackpot in Florida. The lucky visitor sat at a Dancing Drums slot machine April 30 at the Seminole Casino Hotel in Immokalee, the casino said in a May 1 Facebook post. He was celebrating his birthday when he bet 88 cents, hit spin and watched as the symbols flashed across the screen. Then a jackpot message appeared saying he had won $16,192.39. 'What an amazing birthday present! Congratulations,' one person commented. 'Good for him. That's a great birthday present!' another person wrote. Another gambler got lucky at the same casino recently. This guest was playing a Fortune Drums Dragon Boat slot game when he bet 88 cents and won the $34,535.07 jackpot. Immokalee is an unincorporated community in Collier County. It's about a 35-mile drive southeast from Fort Myers.

88-cent bet turns into jackpot prize for Massachusetts casino player
It started with an 88-cent bet. Moments later, drums began banging and jackpot alarms rang out — one lucky casino-goer was walking away with thousands. The jackpot was for $11,712.08 and was won off of the game Dancing Drums at MGM Springfield, said a spokesperson for the Western Massachusetts casino. Earlier this month a Connecticut man bet $3.52 on the same slots game at MGM Springfield. He walked away with a jackpot prize worth $10,862.41. There are over 1,500 slot machines at MGM Springfield. In February, MGM Springfield paid out over $9,900,000 in jackpot prizes, the casino's website states. And in March, MGM Springfield paid out over $13,500,000 in jackpots. Players must be 21 years or older. There were more than 55 jackpot prizes won in March. The largest slots prize won in March was worth $110,918.46. It was won on March 10 playing the game Lightning Link. The player sat at a Dancing Drums slot machine at the Seminole Casino Hotel in Immokalee, Florida, the casino said in a March 24 Facebook post. The guest bet $8.80, hit spin and watched as the symbols flashed across the screen. Then a jackpot message appeared. Other gamblers have won prizes at the same casino recently. One visitor bet $5.28 on a Dancing Drums slot and won the $11,102.37 jackpot. Another gambler bet $5 on a Dragon Link machine and won more than $100,000. A gambler got lucky at a slot machine in southwestern Florida with just an 88-cent bet. The visitor sat at a Dancing Drums slot machine at the Seminole Casino Hotel in Immokalee, the casino said in a Jan. 29 Facebook post. The player bet 88 cents, hit spin and watched as the symbols flashed across the screen until a jackpot message appeared. The casino said the gambler won $18,661.45. 'Wow on an $0.88 bet….i can't wait for mine….congratulations,' one person commented on Facebook. 'Wow .. congrats. Wish that would happen to me!!' another person wrote. 'Holy cow! That's the best one yet,' someone else said. A couple of other gamblers have also won big prizes at the casino. One player went to a Tree of Wealth slot machine, bet $52.80 and won $212,640.60 on Jan. 16, McClatchy News reported. That same day, a second gambler sat at a Buffalo Link slot machine and won $165,800. Immokalee is an unincorporated community in Collier County. It's about a 35-mile drive southeast from Fort Myers.
