1 arrested, 1 at large after Altoona traffic stop leads to drugs

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — A traffic stop in Altoona led to a drug bust and two men being charged; however, one of them is still at large. Altoona police announced the arrest of Rafiq Dandridge, 30, and issued an arrest warrant for Terrance Mitchell, 34, both of Philadelphia, after a traffic stop on the 100 block of 6th Avenue at around 1:20 p.m. Saturday, May 31. According to police, the traffic stop was initiated after spotting a vehicle from Philadelphia with an expired registration. The driver, Mitchell, was found to be on parole for various drug violations. Dandridge, the passenger, had a warrant for his arrest out of Montgomery County. While speaking with the duo, police alleged they had conflicting stories as to why they were in Altoona. This prompted 9 Pongo to join and perform a vehicle sniff for the presence of drugs — which Pongo allegedly gave a positive alert. Philadelphia native found with $23K worth of drugs in Altoona bust Police arrested Dandridge on his active warrant and released Mitchell. The vehicle was impounded to obtain a search warrant. Police said the following was found once the warrant was approved: 37 glassine packets stamped 'Oreo' and 'Dennis Rodman' containing suspected methamphetamine Four baggies with suspected fentanyl Four baggies containing suspected crack, 14 grams One baggie of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, 4 grams Both men were charged with possession with intent to distribute. Dandridge was placed in Blair County Prison in lieu of $100,000 cash remains at large with an active arrest warrant through the Altoona Police Department. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Georgia Facing Uncertainty With Star Playmaker Amid Recruiting Rumors

The Georgia Bulldogs have received positive recruiting updates from a lot of different prospects lately. But things may still be up in the air with one four-star wide receiver. Rivals' Adam Gorney suggested Thursday that the Bulldogs could be in line to get a commitment from Milton, Georgia native and four-star receiver Craig Dandridge. But that is also not guaranteed. Advertisement "Dandridge's recruitment could still go in a lot of ways with Georgia, Florida, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Stanford, Oklahoma and Clemson standing out the most for the four-star receiver from Milton (Ga.) Cambridge," wrote Gorney. "If Dandrige is looking for things on and off the field, especially in academics, then the Cardinal could be a surprise pick here since he loved seeing those options on his weekend visit. "Still, there are many other considerations as the Bulldogs are always tough to turn down." Georgia Bulldogs football head coach Kirby Smart© Dale Zanine-Imagn Images While Gorney's portrayed the receiver's recruiting process with a lot of uncertainty, On3's Jeremy Johnson had a more positive update this week for Georgia. Advertisement "Dandridge has felt the love in Athens. He talks to Georgia wide receiver coach James Coley every day. Coley was in attendance for Dandridge's spring game on Thursday," wrote Johnson on Wednesday. "Dandridge feels good about the bond he's built with Coley." The receiver also told Johnson that the Bulldogs are at the top of his recruiting board. According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Dandridge is the No. 48 wide receiver in the 2026 class. The wideout is also the 38th-ranked Georgia recruit and No. 310 overall prospect in the class. The Bulldogs already have two receiver commitments for the 2026 class – four-star wideout Vance Spafford and three-star recruit Brady Marchese. Related: Highly Touted Star Puts Georgia on Notice

At the 2025 Met Gala, Keke Palmer Channels the First Black Oscar Nominee for Best Actress

Keke Palmer always knew what she wanted her 2025 Met Gala look—designed by Vera Wang—to be. First and foremost, the actor was resolute in her desire to pay tribute to Dorothy Dandridge, who, in 1954, became the first-ever Black Academy Award nominee for best actress for her role in Carmen Jones. 'Much of [the look] was about the weight of Black dandyism and how it has been used to activate and reshape narratives,' Palmer tells Vogue. 'I wanted to zero in on an inspiration of someone who did that in media from the start, and that was Dorothy Dandridge.' Not only was Dandridge a talented actor (she also earned a Golden Globes nomination for her role in Porgy and Bess), she was also a regular performer at some of New York City's most legendary venues, including the Apollo Theater and the Cotton Club. But during her life, Dandridge was subject to racism within the entertainment industry—including losing Black roles to white actors who performed them in blackface, and being passed over for lead roles opposite white men—prompting her to get involved with the NAACP and the National Urban League. 'After seeing her in Carmen Jones, I completely related to Keke's fascination with her,' Wang says. 'Dorothy represented, in parallel, a true moment for African American success and recognition in Hollywood, and this concept felt entirely authentic to both of us.' WWD/Getty Images Courtesy of Vera Wang Palmer was keen on honoring Wang's house codes in her sartorial homage to Dandridge, allowing the two to land on a feminine interpretation of men's suiting—with embellishments galore. 'From the start, it was truly a meeting of the minds,' Wang says. The look is composed of four separate pieces: a fitted ivory silk faille bodice was outfitted with a lapel neckpiece, which she wore with a pair of black pinched-seam tuxedo pants fabricated in Italian silk and wool radzmire. Over the trousers, she wears a sweeping, bubble-hemmed ball skirt, embroidered with Swarovski crystals and glass pearls. 'Story-wise, it's about a Black beauty who used said beauty and fashion to open doors. That, to me, is Black dandyism at its core from an impact standpoint,' Palmer says of the look. 'We also took the tailoring into account and paid homage to the male tuxedo, which was fun because I love playing with the masculine and feminine.'
