THE MANDALORIAN Season 4 Might Not Happen; The Franchise's Fate Rests on Box Office Numbers — GeekTyrant
If you're a fan of The Mandalorian , you might want to sit down for this one. According to insider Daniel Richtman, The Mandalorian Season 4 might not be happening at all. The insider claims, 'there won't be a Season 4 of The Mandalorian ,' suggesting that Disney is pivoting away from episodic storytelling and leaning fully into theatrical territory. It's a shift that seems to align with Disney's evolving strategy for Lucasfilm and its overall approach to Star Wars . To be fair, the signs have been there. After The Mandalorian Season 3 wrapped in April 2023, development on Season 4 was delayed, and it was initially blamed on the dual Hollywood strikes. But during that downtime, Disney CEO Bob Iger started reshaping the company's streaming priorities. The result was a focus shifted to The Mandalorian & Grogu , a feature film that's now in the works and is expected to carry the torch for the franchise on the big screen. What happens next might all come down to box office performance. Richtman adds, 'There won't be a Season 4 of The Mandalorian , but if the movie succeeds, a sequel will be made. However, if it flops, it will serve as the final chapter for Mando and could also put [Dave] Filoni's movie at risk.' That's a lot riding on a single movie, not just for Din Djarin and Grogu, but potentially for the entire interconnected storyline Filoni has been crafting across Disney+. This is a pretty big change, especially considering how The Mandalorian practically built the foundation for Star Wars on streaming. It launched in 2019 and quickly became the face of Disney+, redefining how Star Wars stories could be told. It spun off characters, helped launch shows like Ahsoka and The Book of Boba Fett . Still, from Disney's point of view, theatrical might just make more financial sense right now. Moving major Star Wars titles to theaters could be an attempt to refocus the brand and boost profits in a crowded streaming landscape. But it's a gamble. Fans didn't invest teir time in three seasons of The Mandalorian just for it to be wrapped up with one movie. There's still a lot of emotional and narrative ground left to cover. So while nothing is officially confirmed, there's a chance we may have seen the last of The Mandalorian as a Disney+ series. Whether that's a savvy pivot or a major misstep depends entirely on how The Mandalorian & Grogu performs when it hits theaters. The Mandalorian & Grogu hits theaters May 22, 2026.

Morocco reportedly considered as filming location for next Spider-Man film
The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film «Spider-Man: Brand New Day» will reportedly expand its filming locations to include Morocco, alongside the United Kingdom, where the production headquarters will be based. Insider Daniel Richtman reports that the film will adopt a more international approach, similar to «Spider-Man: Far From Home». This development suggests that Peter Parker's story will once again extend beyond New York City, following his previous ventures to Washington, D.C., in «Homecoming» and across Europe in «Far From Home». The Moroccan filming locations could provide exotic and visually distinctive settings, potentially revitalizing the franchise's visual style. This international expansion may also introduce new characters, cultures, and dynamics within a broader narrative context, possibly creating connections with other Marvel heroes. «Spider-Man: Brand New Day» is currently in pre-production, with filming scheduled to begin in August. Tom Holland will reprise his role as Spider-Man, with rumors suggesting that Steven Yeun may portray the villain Mr. Negative. While no official plot details have been revealed, these reports indicate an ambitious project designed to further expand Spider-Man's horizons in the MCU.

Silver Surfer Reportedly Set to Appear in Multiple MCU Projects Including a Solo Film — GeekTyrant
It looks like Marvel Studios may have big cosmic plans for Silver Surfer beyond his upcoming debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps , and we might not be getting just one Surfer, either. According to industry scooper Daniel Richtman: 'There are plans for Silver Surfer [to] be in multiple projects after [ The Fantastic Four: First Steps ] including a solo film.' While he didn't clarify which version of the character will be leading the charge, or when and where he'll appear next, I've been hoping that Silver Surfer would have a long-term, cosmic role in the MCU. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set in a retro-futuristic 1960s-inspired alternate timeline, not the Earth-616 continuity that most MCU projects occupy. Director Matt Shakman has teased that the film pulls inspiration from various eras of Fantastic Four comics, including Earth X, a timeline that features a twist on the traditional Silver Surfer by introducing Shalla-Bal, a female version of the character who takes on the mantle instead of Norrin Radd. Some have called her inclusion 'woke,' despite the fact that Shalla-Bal has been part of Silver Surfer lore for decades. That said, the expectation among many fans is that we'll still see the more well-known version of the character, Norrin Radd, eventually show up in Earth-616, especially if a solo film is truly in development. There's even speculation that Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars could be the next logical places for the Surfer to reappear. Both would offer a grand, multiversal playground where different versions of the character including Shalla-Bal and Norrin Radd could exist side by side. But again, take it all with a grain of cosmic dust. Marvel Studios is known for keeping its long-term plans close to the chest, and with The Fantastic Four set to hit theaters this July, it's unlikely we'll get any official confirmation about spin-offs or future appearances until after the film lands. As for Shakman, he's made it clear his focus is on bringing the Fantastic Four and their world to life by going straight to the source material. 'I'm not so much looking at the other movies,' he explained in a previous interview. 'I'm looking at the comics themselves. I'm a huge comic book fan. I've been a big fan of the Fantastic Four since I was a kid.' 'So going back to Kirby and Lee and Byrne and following all the way up to what's happening — certainly Hickman and Waid and Ryan North, what he's been doing,' he continued. 'I'm trying to figure out who these characters are to me and how to bring them to life in the best possible way, and that's really where I've started and how we've approached it.' Whether it's Shalla-Bal, Norrin Radd, or both, it's exciting to hear that Silver Surfer may finally be getting the spotlight the character deserves in the MCU. If Marvel plays its cards right, the next phase of cosmic storytelling could be one of its most ambitious yet. What are your hopes for Silver Surfer's future in the MCU? Would you be down for a solo film featuring both versions?

Marvel Reportedly Building Toward an ANNIHILATORS Movie and Star-Lord Could Lead the Charge — GeekTyrant
Here's a development that could shake up the cosmic side of the MCU. Multiple scoopers are now reporting that Marvel Studios may be developing a live-action Annihilators film, and Chris Pratt's Star-Lord might be leading the team. The news comes from trusted insider Daniel Richtman, who shared via his Patreon that Marvel is quietly putting the pieces together for an Annihilators project. While no official announcement has been made, this lines up with what other insiders have been teasing over the past year. If this is legit, the project could slot into Marvel's next big wave alongside titles like Black Panther 3 and the long-awaited X-Men reboot. The Annihilators team has deep roots in Marvel Comics lore. Originally created by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, and Miguel Angel Sepulveda, the team debuted in The Thanos Imperative: Devastation . The group was formed after Star-Lord's apparent death, with Cosmo the Space Dog pulling together an elite force to prevent galactic-level disasters. The comic book lineup included heavy-hitters like Beta Ray Bill, Silver Surfer, Gladiator, Quasar, Ronan the Accuser, and Ikon, a serious upgrade in cosmic firepower. Back in October 2024, Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus hinted that Peter Quill could return on his own before fans ever see the Guardians reassemble. 'There were plans to have him form the Annihilators. IDK [I don't know] what the plan is now,' Perez said. That uncertainty now feels a little less uncertain. Chris Pratt's last MCU appearance was in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 , which closed out James Gunn's trilogy with a heartfelt goodbye and sent Peter back to Earth. The film ended with the message: 'The Legendary Star-Lord will return,' and Pratt has been open about honoring that promise. 'I can't say, for fans of mine, where they'll see Star-Lord again, but I can tell them we made a promise at the end of [Guardians of the Galaxy] Vol. 3 that the legendary Star-Lord will return, and he will return.' If Star-Lord is indeed building the Annihilators in the MCU, it opens the door for wild team-ups and interstellar conflict on a new scale. It would be pretty cool to see Beta Ray Bill, Cosmo, and Silver Surfer sharing the screen together! We'll have to wait for Marvel to officially confirm the project, but this is definitely one to keep on your cosmic radar.

SUPERMAN Reportedly Takes a Comic-Inspired Episodic Approach — GeekTyrant
DC Studios treated fans with a full trailer for James Gunn's Superman yesterday, and the film has a great vibe, the tone feels right, and it looks like it will tell a solid story. But now, new insider info offers some interesting details. According to inside scooper Daniel Richtman, the movie reportedly adopts an episodic structure, inspired by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's All-Star Superman . That comic is known for its vignette-style storytelling, with each chapter exploring a different facet of the Man of Steel's character. If this structure carries over to the film, we're not just looking at a traditional three-act blockbuster, we're getting something more lyrical, more segmented, and possibly more emotionally resonant. If this is true, it's a creative choice that might divide audiences, but at the very least, it's a unique way to tell a Superman story. There's big confidence coming from inside the studio. Warner Bros. film heads Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca recently sang Gunn's praises after seeing an early cut of Superman. 'I used to chase James as a producer when he did Slither and started with his low-budget movies,' De Luca said. 'He's really unique and I think DC is in great hands with the two of them.' 'We've seen an early cut of Superman,' De Luca added, 'and I don't want to bury the lead… He really understood the assignment. His heart's in the right place, his aim is true, and we're really excited about their new version of DC.' Superman will face off against Jurassic World: Rebirth and Marvel's The Fantastic Four: First Steps in a July box office showdown that's bound to pull in some big box office numbers. 'In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who's driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.' David Corenswet suits up as Superman/Clark Kent, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult playing Lex Luthor. The ensemble also includes Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Neva Howell, and Milly Alcock. Superman hits theaters on July 11, 2025.
