Thrilling Drama Run, Starring Sammy Sheik, Joins Berlinale Film Market

Coinciding with the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, Run, starring Sammy Sheik, Daniel Sauli, Kristen Renton, and Mohammed Qissi, is set to participate in the Berlinale Film Market ahead of its highly anticipated European theatrical release.
'I began filming Run on an island in Croatia shortly after completing Al Hashshashin,' shared actor Sammy Sheik. 'The film is directed by German filmmaker Uwe Boll, with whom I previously collaborated on Darfur. It features a diverse international cast, bringing together talent from over five different nationalities.'
Run tells the gripping story of a group of desperate migrants who arrive on the Italian coast after a perilous Mediterranean crossing, forever altering the lives of locals and tourists in a small coastal town.
Directed by Uwe Boll, Run stars Daniel Sauli, Sammy Sheik, Kristen Renton, and Mohammed Qissi.
Sammy Sheik's latest series is Safha Beida Where he plays the role of Lieutenant Colonel Eyad Tawfiq, a dedicated officer whose curiosity is piqued by the case of Dai, played by Hanan Mutawa. This leads him to follow her in an attempt to unravel the mystery, creating a suspenseful and thrilling narrative.
The series features a stellar ensemble, including Hanan Mutawa, Sammy Sheik, Maha Nassar, Ahmed Al-Shami, Tayseer Abdel Aziz, Hanan Youssef, and Hassan Al-Adl, alongside other talented stars. Safha Beida is written by Hatem Hafez, directed by Ahmed Hassan, and produced by Aroma, of producer Tamer Murtada.
Sammy continues his streak of successes, having previously made a remarkable impact during the Ramadan 2024 season with his role as Barzak Ameed in Al Hashshashin series. This historical drama is set in the 11th century in northern Persia, depicting Hassan Al-Sabah's formation of the Feda'yeen, a group of devoted Ismailis. The series stars Karim Abdel Aziz, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Nicola Mouawad, Ahmed Eid, Sammy Sheik, Ahmed Abdel Wahab, and a host of guest stars. Al Hashshashin is written by Abdel Rahim Kamal, directed by Peter Mimi, and produced by Synergy.
Sammy Sheik, an Egyptian-American actor, began his artistic journey by studying theater in New York. His first major role came in 2005 in Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World, a satirical comedy directed, written, and starring Albert Brooks, where Sheik played the role of Al Jazeera's director, Mukhtar Al-Mujeeb.
He continued to build a diverse career with standout performances in both film and television, starring in series such as Homeland, 24, and United States of Tara. He also appeared in acclaimed shows including Nikita, The Unit, NCIS, Lost, and S.W.A.T. His filmography boasts roles in Attack On Darfur, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Charlie Wilson's War, and American Sniper, where he worked under the direction of Clint Eastwood.
Beyond his acting career, Sammy Sheik was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador in the Middle East for Y-Peer in 2010. Y-Peer is a youth education network launched by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). As a dedicated ambassador, Sheik has traveled to over 36 countries, representing the organization and advocating for youth empowerment and education.
