Another Tatis down the street, Fernando Tatis Jr.'s younger brother Daniel making a name for himself at San Diego City College
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Just a mile away from Petco Park, resides another Tatis.
San Diego Padres Fernando Tatis Jr.'s younger brother Daniel Tatis wrapping up his season for the San Diego City College.
'It's a great thing, a great opportunity to have my brother close to me. You now talk the game, preach the game and it's always good to have family around, especially to help each other. That's what it's all about,' Fernando Tatis Jr. sharing.

Daniel finishing the season with a .260 batting average,16 RBI's and 2 homeruns in his 31 games played.
'I play third base and catcher, I feel like I prefer third base more,' Daniel on his preferred position.
While big brother Fernando envisions Daniel's brother behind the plate saying, 'But I want to see him as a catcher because just the IQ that we have as a family on baseball.. I know he's going to bring the right mentality behind the plate, he's going to take control of the game back there and he can really swing the bat.'
So have more San Diegans been 'catching' on to the fact that another Tatis takes the field at the gem of San Diego City College?

'It's becoming more and more prevalent that they do, I was just at a local store and a fella at the counter was telling me about his son.. he goes 'Hey, you've got Daniel Tatis at San Diego City College! Correct?' and I go.. 'Yea, we're blessed to have him. He's doing a good job.' So he's becoming a local product of San Diego which is awesome.' San Diego City Knights Head Coach Chris Brown, who's in his 26th year as head coach sharing on the rising prominence of Daniel in town.
Naturally carrying the last name Tatis can come with expectations, but Fernando sharing on Daniel shaping his own identity, 'Just be himself, you know everybody's different in this world. I'm different from my dad, he's different from myself. So whatever his game is just improve on those areas and just have fun it's a really tough game so whatever you're going to do out there do it with your heart.'
