Volunteers sought to help with placing flags on veterans' graves
(WKBN) — Volunteers are needed to help place flags on local military graves ahead of Memorial Day.

Youngstown AMVETS 44 will be placing flags at Lake Park Cemetery on Midlothian Boulevard, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 10. The public is welcome to help, and volunteers should meet at the old chapel, to the left of the flag pole.
Volunteers are also needed for flag placement at Oak Hill Cemetery, located at 344 Oak Hill Ave. in Youngstown. Flags will be placed from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 17.

Veterans' Memorial Day Prayer Services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Calvary Cemetery at 248 S. Belle Vista Ave., Resurrection Cemetery at 300 N. Raccoon Road in Austintown, and All Souls Cemetery at 3823 Hoagland Blackstub Road in Cortland. After the ceremony, volunteers are invited to place flags on the veterans' graves, and they will be offered coffee and donuts.
The Veterans Service Commission and volunteers will also be cleaning up and placing small American flags on the graves of military veterans on Friday, May 23, starting at 10 a.m.
