D118 to pay $817,367.84 to former superintendent Dr. Alicia Geddis
As part of a settlement agreement with former superintendent Dr. Alicia Geddis, Danville District 118 must pay her $817,367.84. Geddis will also remain on paid administrative leave until her contract ends on June 30, 2026, according to the signed agreement, secured by the Commercial-News via a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request.
The full payment includes:
* $250,000 in liquidated damages as part of a prior settlement in 2021.
* $20,000 for Geddis' attorney's fees.
* $542,197.35 for Geddis to "compromise her claim for defamation" on the part of certain members of the Board
* $5,170.49 for "expenses incurred" by Geddis, including "reasonable monthly expenses incurred in the performance of her duties."
