Hyderabad committee offers ‘Bangaru Bonam' to Goddess Kanaka Druga
Hyderabad Ummadi Devalayala Uregimpu Committee offered 'Bangaru Bonam' to Goddess Kanaka Durga atop Indrakeeladri here on Sunday.
The committee members, along with 'Dappu Nrutyam', 'Kolatam', 'Nemali Nrutyam', 'Tappetlu' and other cultural troupes started the Bonalu procession from Brahmana Veedhi.
Hyderabad Ummadi Devalayala Uregimpu Committee president Gopisetti Raghavendar. said that they offered bonam to Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy.
State Minister for Endowments Anam Ramnarayana Reddy and Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devastanam Executive Officer V.K. Seena Naik welcomed the committee members.
Jogini Shyamala Devi handed over the 'Bangaru Bonam' to the temple EO and other officials on the occasion of Aashada Maasam. Later, the committee members had 'darshan' of the deity.
'Elaborate arrangements have been made for 'Bangaru Bonam samarpana'. We received the devotees of various temples who visited Indrakeeladri, as per the tradition and offered 'teerdha prasadams',' Mr. Seena Naik said.
'We offered obeisance to Goddess Durga Devi and prayed for good rains, crops, health and peace to the people in both the Telugu States,' said Mr. Raghavendar.
Meanwhile, many devotees had darshan of Goddess Durga Devi on Sunday. Indrakeeladri wore a festive look as part of Aashada Maasa Utsavams.
