Man found with more than £110k of drugs in Greeba jailed
A man has been jailed for seven years after being found with more than £110,000 worth of about 16:40 GMT on 18 October, Darby Roberts, 25, was stopped by police on Main Road in Greeba due to the speed he was driving.A search of his car found 190 tablets of MDMA and cocaine later found to be worth £3,150. Some £114,292 of cannabis was subsequently found in his property stashed in sealed bags in a hatch and £1,292 of cash was located hidden in rubber gloves along with electronic weighing scales.
The prosecutor told the court that police had identified a number of messages from people seeking a police interview the following day, Roberts said the cocaine was for personal use, but replied no comment in response to questions about the cannabis and cash, Douglas Courthouse was had pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of MDMA with intent to supply and possession of cannabis with intent to had no previous convictions, the court heard, and references described him as a "hard-working man" who had "given back to the community" through charity the 25-year-old, Deemster Graeme Cook said: "I struggle to understand why you became involved in this sort of activity," adding "you are someone who should have known better".
