Corvette leads law enforcement on chase through Darlington County, deputies say
DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The Hartsville Police Department and Darlington County deputies were led on a high speed chase by a Corvette Tuesday morning, the Darlington County Sheriff's Office said. Just after 11 a.m., a red Corvette was speeding through Hartsville, headed south down Highway 151 towards the sheriff's office. The car attempted to turned down Camp Road where deputies were staged, but continued straight down Highway 151 towards Manheim. The car then turned down Highway 52 Bypass and got stopped at a stoplight at Highway 401. Deputies used their vehicles to disable the suspect's vehicle, causing minor damage caused to the deputy's cars and damage to the Corvette. There were no reported injuries. The sheriff's office said that the suspect was taken into custody and his name and charges will be released at a later time. The South Carolina Highway Patrol assisted in this incident. Darlington County deputies ask for help finding 41-year-old woman missing for nearly 3 weeks
DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Darlington County authorities are asking for the public's help finding a missing 41-year-old woman. Loretta Parker was reported missing on Tuesday by family members but has not been seen since April 6, the Darlington County Sheriff's Office said. She was last seen driving a dark green 1997 Chevrolet Blazer on Elissa Drive in the Darlington area. The sheriff's office did not say why there was a delay in her being reported missing. Man arrested after dog attacked child on bike in Darlington County, deputies say
DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — One man was arrested Tuesday after his Pitbull allegedly bit a child while they were riding their bike, the Darlington County Sheriff's Office said. Jimmie Sutton was charged with permitting domestic animals to run at large after the March 31 incident on High Hill Road. According to an arrest warrant, Sutton allowed his dog to run around unleashed when the dog ran off his property and into the road where it attacked a child who was riding a bike. The child was taken to a local hospital with injuries to both of their legs. Sutton was arrested on Tuesday and is being held in the W. Road rage incident leads to 2 arrests in Hartsville area, deputies say
DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Two men were arrested following a November road rage incident in the Hartsville area where one man pulled a gun and the other impersonated a law enforcement officer, the Darlington County Sheriff's Office said. Charles Mixon Jr. was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and was arrested Wednesday. John Walters III was charged with reckless driving and breach of peace high and aggravated and was arrested Thursday. The incident happened on Nov. 11, when Mixon and Walters were driving on West Bobo Newsom Highway, arrest warrants said. Walters was driving a 2023 Indian Scout motorcycle and Mixon was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado. Walters drove beside Mixon and attempted to get his attention, warrants show. He then weaved from one lane to another, tailgated Mixon, then weaved again and chased down the truck to drive along side of it. Mixon later stopped at a local business, and Walters followed him there, the sheriff's office said. The two began to argue, and Walters pulled a gun. In response, Mixon pulled out a retired law enforcement badge and verbally signed that he was a police officer, according to an arrest warrant. The incident is being investigated by the Darlington County Sheriff's Office, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is assisting. * * * Jordan White is a Digital Producer at News13. Deputies search for 2 vehicles possibly connected to shooting in Darlington County
DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The Darlington County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in looking for two vehicles that could be involved in the shooting of a woman on Sunday. Deputies are looking for a grey Dodge Charger with a yellow stripe and a black Nissan Altima that could possibly be involved in a shooting that happened on Anderson Farm Road.
