Released early in a murder case, D.C. man gets 60-year term for new killing
Julius Hayes was shot to death for allegedly spreading rumors that Darrell Moore was 'dealing with a gay guy,' a witness said in a videoed police interrogation that was played in a D.C. courtroom.
Angered by the supposed remarks about a same-sex relationship, prosecutors said, Moore, now 47, went looking for Hayes in April 2021, driving around the block where Hayes lived in Northeast Washington on the Saturday before Easter.
