Police investigating woman's death as homicide after body found on Alexandria street
The Alexandria Police Department is investigating how a woman died after her body was found on a street Saturday afternoon.
According to a news release, officers responded to the area of 16th and Stracener streets around 2:35 p.m. after a report of a body being found.
Police identified the victim as Loletha Bell, 35. Her death was ruled a homicide, reads the release.

Bell's family is raising money for her May 25 memorial service through GoFundMe. As of Tuesday morning, the campaign has almost met half of its $3,000 goal.
