RTÉ Rugby panel assess the fortunes of Munster, Connacht and Ulster after end of regular season
As the BKT URC regular season comes to a close, the RTÉ Rugby panel of Eddie O'Sullivan, Darren Cave and Jamie Heaslip review the fortunes of Munster, Connacht and Ulster.
Alongside table-toppers Leinster, Munster are the only other team to finish in the top eight and guarantee Champions Cup rugby next season.
Ulster, for the first time ever, will compete in the group stages of the Challenge Cup, while Connacht remain in the second tier.
"It was an absolutely huge game for Munster, they delivered," said former Ireland forward Heaslip on their win over Benetton on Friday.
Connacht finished off their campaign with a victory at Zebre but Eddie O'Sullivan lamented their defensive failings.
"They've always they do shoot themselves in the foot quite frequently," said the former Ireland head coach.
Ulster, meanwhile, fell to a big loss in Edinburgh and former Ireland and Ulster centre Cave questioned their attitude.
"My big question we hit rock bottom yet?" he said.
