Unmasked: Accused paedophile arrested in The Muppets pyjamas is pictured as grim new details emerge
A man who allegedly used social media to procure a child for sexual acts has been unmasked after he was arrested in The Muppets pyjamas last week.
Sunshine Coast teacher Darren Raymond Fulcher was arrested on June 10 following an investigation targeting online child exploitation and abuse.
The 58-year-old was charged with one count of using the internet to procure a child under 16 and later released on strict bail conditions.
Prior to his arrest, Fulcher regularly shared photos of himself online wearing Disney merchandise and he would often take Disney-themed holidays.
'Disney Fan. Next trip - Thanksgiving 2025,' his Instagram bio reads.
The Queensland College of Teachers - the state's teacher registration body - shows Fulcher was suspended as a teacher on June 9.
Dramatic footage of his arrest last week showed police officers busting though the front door of the former teacher's home.
Fulcher, wearing a Muppets-themed pyjama set with an 'unleash the beast' t-shirt, sat on his couch barefoot while speaking with officers.
The school where Fulcher worked sent an email about the arrest of a teacher to parents and guardians this week, the Courier Mail reported.
'The safety and wellbeing of our students is our priority,' the email read.
'(The school) has recently learned of an allegation against a teacher, possibly constituting an online child sex offence. We take such allegations extremely seriously.
'Be advised the teacher is no longer in the workplace while the matter is ongoing.'
Fulcher is set to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on July 14.
