Witnesses say a driver crashed into a police cruiser at a construction site on Interstate 20 early Thursday morning. The crash happened in a construction zone on I-20 eastbound near Wesley Chapel Road. Heavy police presence in DeKalb County community

As many families are waking up to start their day, many will notice a heavy police presence in a Stone Mountain community. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Stonegate Industrial Boulevard is blocked off. However, the police activity appears to be along Longman Way. A Channel 2 Action News photographer spotted multiple DeKalb County officials, including DeKalb County police, DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, DKPD SWAT, and first responders. Channel 2's Darryn Moore says one person was being taken away in handcuffs. DKPD has not said who that person is or if they are connected to the police activity. This is a developing story. Woman dies in Atlanta house fire after saving man trapped inside, investigators say

Firefighters are investigating a deadly house fire in northwest Atlanta. Investigators told Channel 2's Darryn Moore the victim who died saved the life of a man who was trapped. Atlanta Fire and Rescue crews arrived to find flames and heavy smoke coming from the roof and the front of the house. A woman was trapped inside the burning home. Crews said she went back inside after she saved a man's life. She was unable to get back out. The man suffered from smoke inhalation and is recovering at the hospital. An Atlanta mother is thankful that she and her children weren't hurt after a tree nearly missed their home. The large tree came down around 3 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Forrest Park Road in southeast Atlanta. Channel 2′s Darryn Moore was outside the home on Imperial Drive off Centerville Highway during Channel 2 Action News This Morning. The SWAT team surrounded the home searching for someone they believed was inside. A robot and officers with weapons drawn and bulletproof shields went into the home overnight.
