Hayden Christensen to Return in Ahsoka Season 2

Anakin Skywalker is formally dead, but he's not gone: Hayden Christensen will return in Ahsoka Season 2 as the iconic Star Wars character. Christensen previously appeared in Season 1 during flashbacks, and in a dreamscape scenario in which he and Ahsoka fought in a lightsaber duel. The news of his Season 2 return was confirmed Saturday at the Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo. 'Half of it is a really, really big battle,' he said. 'There's going to be a war in our Star Wars, like an all-out throw down.' Filoni added that the forthcoming installment will see more from Thrawn, Ezra and Hera, the latter of whom 'will be much more directly part of the action.' It was also confirmed that Scottish Game of Thrones alum Rory McCann will play Baylan Skoll, filling the role originated by the late Irish actor Ray Stevenson, who died in May 2023. Ahsoka's eight-episode sophomore season is set to begin filming soon. The release date has yet to be announced.
