Winston-Salem man dies after being thrown from truck during crash on US 29, police say
GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A Winston-Salem man died on Wednesday after a truck he was driving went off the road and hit a guardrail, according to a Greensboro Police Department news release.
Around 6:29 p.m., Greensboro officers, Greensboro firefighters and Guilford County EMS responded to 6096 US 29 South about a crash with injuries.
Dashaun Rodrick Sheff, 29, of Winston-Salem, was driving a Chevrolet Avalanche south on US 29 when his vehicle ran off the road and hit a guardrail on the right shoulder.
Sheff was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle into the road.
He was in critical condition when he was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he later died of his injuries.
