KUALA LUMPUR: Duopharma Biotech Bhd has secured 18 offer letters to supply 100 pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products to government healthcare facilities until Dec 31, 2026. The offer letters, from the Health Ministry under the approved products purchase list for financial year 2024 (FY24) and April 2025, have a combined estimated value of RM684.15 million. In FY24, Duopharma's revenue rose 15.5 per cent to RM813.7 million from RM704.7 million a year ago. Its net profit was 19 per cent higher to RM62.6 million from RM52.6 million previously. The company paid a total dividend of three sen per share amounting to RM28.86 million during the period, 30.4 per cent higher than the total 2.3 sen per share paid in FY23. Meanwhile, Duopharma chairman Datin Kartini Abdul Manaf said it is accelerating its mission to become the leading provider of generic and biologic pharmaceutical solutions in Malaysia and the Asean region. This is in line with its mission to ensure patients and consumers have access to a comprehensive range of effective and affordable pharmaceutical products. She said the company's ongoing efforts to foster a healthier nation through both its product and technology offerings as well as by supporting knowledge exchange. "We have collaborated with other stakeholders to promote healthy eating and the role our vitamins can play in ensuring balanced nutrition, and worked with healthcare professionals to promote early cancer detection in underserved communities through the use of handheld screening devices. "In addition, we continue to support academic collaboration for research and development, particularly in halal pharmaceuticals, including organising the Halal Pharmaceutical Symposium 2024 in partnership with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia," she added. Group managing director Leonard Ariff Abdul Shatar said Duopharma is focusing on expanding both its ethical and consumer healthcare products to drive sustainable long-term growth. He added that Duopharma is focusing on expanding its international business, with promising growth observed in the sales of consumer healthcare products, generics, biosimilars and medical devices across the region. "We have been actively laying the groundwork to expand halal exports through engagement initiatives and awareness programmes with relevant parties in markets such as Qatar and Timor Leste, among others," he said.
