Surge of new MCA members in states a boost for party, says Dr Wee
PETALING JAYA:MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong says the addition of new members who are entrepreneurs, professionals of various fields and university graduates is a much-needed boost for the party. 'We urgently need more young talents with creativity, eloquence, and language proficiency to inject fresh energy into the party!' he said in a Facebook post after witnessing an induction ceremony for new members at Wisma MCA on Sunday (April 27). The event, at the invitation of Federal Territories MCA chairman and party vice-president Dato' Sri Dr. Wee Jeck Seng, saw the induction of 200 new members to the party. Dr Wee added that the party must promote younger members with more opportunities to maintain a surge in new membership. 'I also urged leaders at the divisional and branch levels to actively promote young members by giving them opportunities to shine and contribute to the party, community and the nation. 'From what I understand, it's not only the Federal Territories that are seeing a surge in new members — other states are also reporting encouraging numbers, which is a tremendous boost to our morale!' he said.
