Milwaukee tactical situation ends near 47th and State; 3 in custody

A tactical situation near 47th and State involving Milwaukee police has ended.
Three people were taken into custody and face potential charges.
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee police have ended a tactical situation at a residence near 47th and State on Sunday, May 18.
What we know
South Milwaukee police said its officers were investigating a burglary – and that lee police to the area of 47th and State, where this tactical situation happened. Officials said it was believed that the burglary suspects lived in that area.
The suspects initially refused to come out of the residence.

With help from the Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, three people were taken into custody without incident. They include a 27-year-old woman, a 36-year-old man and a 44-year-old man.
What they're saying
"It was definitely team work with the tactical unit – you know they train relentlessly I'm sure and you have to trust the person standing beside you and behind you," said Dave Seegert, who lives in the neighborhood.
Seegert is grateful the incident ended as it did.

"That's the biggest thing you know any time that the police department can go home and no one is hurt – whether it is the police officer or the suspects – that's always going to be a positive," Seegert said.
What's next
All three will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for felony charges.
