You can't park there! Land Rover ends up on top of another vehicle after Sainsbury's supermarket car park crash
A Land Rover ended up on top of another vehicle following a crash in a supermarket car park. Three vehicles were involved in the crash in Sainsbury's car park in Falmouth on Saturday, May 31. The crash is said to have taken place when a woman in the Land Rover reversed into another car, flipping it over and hitting a silver Volkswagen Beetle. Dramatic pictures show the Land Rover Freelander perched on top of the overturned vehicle. Emergency services rushed to the scene and the vehicles were recovered. Two people were in one of the cars at the time of the crash, but both reportedly got out uninjured. Police said the owners swapped insurance details at the scene. Pictures of the crash were shared on social media, where members of the public joked about the bizarre scene. David Bowden wrote: 'I think this is why Sainsbury's want a new Store in Falmouth. The Car-parking is limited and nobody should have to park 2 cars to a space.' Dawn Chittock suggested the picture would 'make a great specsavers advert.' 'Rushing to get the reduced sandwiches again,' another user wrote. Others likened the image to modern art. Mark Carveth joked: 'The winner of the 2025 Turner prize is a sculpture from Falmouth' A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: 'We were called to Sainsbury's, Falmouth, car park at around 1.30pm on Saturday 31 May following a report of a three vehicle collision. 'Only one vehicle had occupants but both got out of the car uninjured. All vehicles were recovered and insurance details swapped.' A Sainsbury's spokesperson said: 'Emergency services attended an incident in the car park of our Falmouth store on Saturday afternoon. A small section of the car park was closed for a couple of hours and we're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.'
