Cleveland Browns Tight End David Njoku Ranked Outside Top 10
Cleveland Browns Tight End David Njoku Ranked Outside Top 10 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Cleveland Browns have an interesting situation at tight end. David Njoku will enter his ninth season in the league at a cost of nearly $11.5 million to the team. Last season, the University of Miami product posted 505 yards on 64 catches with five touchdowns in just 11 games. Advertisement The former Hurricane was plagued by ankle, knee and hamstring injuries that kept him out of six games and slowed him in several appearances. It also didn't help that there's been a revolving door at quarterback in Cleveland over the past two seasons while Deshaun Watson continues to be injured. Pro Football Focus ranked Njoku at No. 15 in their list of the top tight ends as we approach 2025. 15. David Njoku, Cleveland Browns "After a breakout 2023 season in which he caught 88 passes for 975 yards, Njoku dealt with injuries and a shuffling quarterback room in Cleveland on his way to a career-low 64.0 PFF overall grade this past season. If he can stay healthy with stability at the quarterback position in 2025, expect the athletic big man to flirt with 1,000 yards for the first time in his career." Advertisement Njoku made the Pro Bowl in 2023 after 882 yards on 81 catches and six touchdowns. It's that kind of form that he needs to return to so the Browns can justify that salary. He also enters 2025 with only void years left on his deal. Match that with the fact that the Browns drafted Bowling Green tight end Harold Fannin Jr. this season in the third round, and Njoku could be sharing playing time with the rookie. It's a complicated formula that might see Njoku's days numbered in Cleveland. 3 Tight Ends To Buy In Dynasty Fantasy Football
After breaking down this series of players to buy for running backs, wide receivers and quarterbacks, it's only right to finish things off with tight ends. That said, let's break down which players you should buy in dynasty fantasy football. For this exercise, we'll be using a PPR format and basing the values off Keep Trade Cut. Starting off with the highest valued tight end on this list, T.J. Hockenson is a great value right now. Per KTC, in November 20th, 2023, Hockenson peaked as the TE1 in dynasty. Hockenson is still only 27 years old and he's attached to a great offense in the Minnesota Vikings. We've seen him put up multiple 12-plus PPG seasons and one 14.6 PPG season in 2023. In December of 2023, Hockenson suffered a torn ACL and MCL which tanked his dynasty value. With Hockenson having well over a full season to recover, he should be close to his former self in 2025. Assuming that's the case and J.J. McCarthy is a solid quarterback, you could be getting a tight end who's only 27 years old and is scoring 13-15 PPG. If Hockenson is able to get back to his former self, he'll easily be a top three dynasty tight end. David Njoku is one of the most mispriced tight ends in dynasty right now and I've seen him go even later than TE10. Njoku is 28 years old and while the Cleveland Browns offense is rough right now, he's set to be a free agent in 2026. Based on how the market reacts to new moves, if Njoku finds an appealing landing spot, his value will skyrocket. It seems like the Browns are going to let him walk as they drafted Harold Fannin Jr in the third round (67th overall pick) of the 2025 NFL Draft. Even in a bad offense, Njoku has been highly productive since 2023. Njoku had 12.6 PPG in 2023 and then was even better in 2024 with 13.5 PPG. With very little target competition, it's hard to see that production going down for 2025 and the future outlook for another team is very bright. As someone who was a massive Noah Fant fan, it puzzles me why people don't think Elijah Arroyo is the immediate TE1 for the Seattle Seahawks. Fant has been unable to produce and AJ Barner was a round four pick (121st overall). Arroyo has a clear advantage over both as he was the 50th overall pick (second round) in the NFL Draft. You can find my full breakdown on Arroyo here, which is backed by film and an in-depth breakdown. The quick breakdown, though, is that Arroyo is an elite athlete and could have been drafted even higher if he hadn't suffered injuries in college. On a team that only has Jaxon Smith-Njigba and a 31 year old Cooper Kupp, I'm expecting Arroyo to be productive right away. If that's the case and Arroyo can keep up this success, he's going to skyrocket past this TE22 ranking. Arroyo is one of my favorite buys in dynasty fantasy football.

David Njoku makes shirtless plea for Myles Garrett to stay
Myles Garrett is not the only Cleveland Browns player on Radio Row at the Super Bowl, as tight end David Njoku has also been caught on the scene. And in classic Njoku fashion, the Pro Bowl tight end is not wearing a shirt just like it is a pregame ritual in 20-degree weather. On Radio Row, however, Njoku sat down with the guys at Bleacher Report to discuss the future of the Browns, including the trade request made by Garrett, who did a media tour of his own. In the interview, Mike Golic Jr. asks Njoku if he has any public plea for Garrett. Njoku responded: "Come on, dawg, stay home, bro... Stay home, come on, give it another shot. We ain't that far off, honestly speaking, so." Njoku furthered his plea to his fellow 2017 NFL draft first round pick: "That's my brother, man. We came in the same time, the same round. We've been here the same amount of time. We've seen the lowest of the lows and the highest of the highs in our team... I don't think we're done yet. I know he wants to win, wants to be great, wants to be a champion. So do I... Stay home baby. We already got this far. We didn't come this far just to come this far." Browns TE David Njoku: 'I think we're close. We just need a healthy, good quarterback.' — Daniel Oyefusi (@DanielOyefusi) February 6, 2025 As for how close the Browns are? Njoku thinks they may be just one piece away: "I think we're close, man. I think we just need a healthy, good quarterback." The Browns have publicly stated they will not entertain trading their future first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer. Can Njoku and the Browns get Garrett to buy back in for the 2025 season though?
