Donald Trump's Verbal Slip Revives His Most Notorious Hot-Mic Scandal
A verbal slip from Donald Trump on Thursday unintentionally resurfaced one of his most infamous scandals. While speaking to reporters, the president twice in quick succession mistakenly referred to the social media platform TikTok as 'Tic Tac,' the brand of breath mints. The blunder was widely mocked online. Trump: I think Tic Tac… Some of the great people I did interviews were a part of it. — Acyn (@Acyn) February 13, 2025 For some, though, it reminded them of Trump's talk of Tic Tacs in his 2005 'Access Hollywood' hot-mic remarks. In footage that leaked just before the 2016 election, but which ultimately had no effect on the outcome of the vote, then-reality TV personality Trump told the show's then-host Billy Bush that he needed Tic Tacs before greeting 'Days Of Our Lives' actor Arianne Zucker. 'I better use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her,' Trump said. In the same audio, Trump boasted that his celebrity status let him with women: 'Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.'
