‘Extra' Renewed For Season 32; Billy Bush's Return As Host Uncertain
Syndicated entertainment news series Extra will return for a 32nd season next fall. The half-hour program has been renewed by the Fox Televisions Stations, which has been the daily newzmagazine's anchor station group for the past six seasons. Terms of the renewal have not been disclosed. There has been chatter that it is an all-barter deal but sources indicate that it may be cash plus barter. There has been speculation that he may be leaving after six seasons but that has not been determined yet, sources said. Conversations with Bush about his future on the show are expected to start now that Extra has been renewed. Bush is hosting the show, which features breaking entertainment and pop culture news as well as interviews with newsmakers and celebrities, joined by and a group of correspondents including senior correspondent/weekend co-hosts Melvin Robert and Mona Kosar Abdi, and correspondent Terri Seymour. Helmed by veteran executive producers Theresa Coffino and Jeremy Spiegel, Extra is produced by Telepictures Productions in association with Warner Bros. Unscripted Television, and is distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. ‘Days Of Our Lives' Actor Billy Flynn Joins ‘The Young And The Restless'
Billy Flynn is leaving Days of Our Lives. The actor who first joined the Peacock sudser in 2014 to play Chad DiMera is moving to CBS' The Young and the Restless in a new role. He will debut sometime this spring on the daytime drama. His final episode of DOOL is expected to air in early 2026. Deadline understands Flynn's departure is amicable. 'I am grateful for my years at Days. It changed my life in the best ways,' Flynn told TV Insider, which first broke the news about his departure. 'I've always said these stories we tell are like doing a play, and I've spent the last 10-plus years playing this amazing character and telling one of the all-time great love stories. And now I'm excited for this opportunity and to test myself in a new way.' Flynn also starred in the Peacock spinoffs Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem and Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas. He earned three Daytime Emmy noms for his work on the Peacock sudser. 'We support Billy as an actor and friend, and wish him nothing but continued success and happiness, personally and professionally,' said DOOL EP Ken Corday to TV Insider.
