Police seek witnesses after cyclist dies of injuries in south end crash

Ottawa police are seeking witnesses to a fatal collision between a vehicle and a cyclist Wednesday afternoon in the city's south end. Emergency responders were called to the collision at Bank Street and Dazé Street at about 2:40 p.m. The cyclist was transported to the hospital with injuries at that time. However, the man succumbed to his injuries on Sunday. In a release, police said investigators are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or has dashcam or other footage of this incident. A male cyclist has died of injuries he sustained in a vehicle collision in the city's south end, according to the Ottawa Police Service. On Wednesday, officers were called around 2:40 p.m. to a vehicle collision involving a cyclist at the corner of Bank Street and Dazé Street, police reported in a press release Sunday. The male cyclist was transported to hospital with injuries and died Sunday morning, according to police. Police have not released the cyclist's age, whether he died in hospital or how many vehicles were involved in the collision. Police asked anyone who witnessed or has dashcam footage of the collision to contact the fatal collision investigation unit at 613-236-1222, extension 2345.
