Kitten heard screaming in pipe rescued after 18 hours on Long Island
BAY SHORE, N.Y. (PIX11) – A kitten heard screaming in an underground pipe in Bay Shore was finally rescued after 18 hours, according to Long Island Cat Kitten Solution.
Officers from the Suffolk County Police Department and Bay Shore Fire Department were unable to rescue the trapped kitten, Long Island Cat Kitten Solution Vice President John DeBacker said.

DeBacker, who was called to the scene, said he was unable to grab the kitten with his hand. He used a Ketch-All pole to pull it to safety.
The kitten is now in foster care, according to DeBacker.
