Fire extinguished at Doraville Package Store, no one injured, officials say
DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department say they extinguished a fire at a package store just before midnight. Capt. Jaeson Daniels, DCFR PIO says fire officials responded to 6400 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in reference to a commercial structure fire. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Daniels said there are no injuries to report and it is unclear as to what caused the fire to ignite. A Channel 2 Action News photographer says traffic was rerouted as far back as Suwanee because of the fire's proximity to the interstate. Car catches fire in driveway, spreads to house in DeKalb County
DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department responded to a house fire that occurred Sunday evening, Channel 2 Action News learned. Battalion Chief Patrick Hogan said the department received a call just before 11 p.m. about a possible car fire at 2226 Medfield Trail NE. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] When they arrived, they found a fully involved vehicle on fire in the driveway. The fire from the car then began to move to the front of the house, where some damage did occur. Hogan said DKFR contained the fire and kept it from spreading to the rest of the house.
