Three DeKalb teens arrested after shootout on Kimberly Drive
DEKALB, Ill. (WTVO) — Three 17-year-old DeKalb teens have been apprehended after a shootout on May 5th.
According to the DeKalb Police Department, officers were called to the 900 block of Kimberly Drive to investigate a shooting that had reportedly occurred there.
Police said there was a citizen video of the event, which showed a large group of people watching a confrontation between two teens, which escalated into several firearms being drawn and several shots being fired.
No injuries were reported.
Police were able to identify two of the offenders, who were both equipped with electronic home monitoring devices at the time of the incident.
A third was arrested at his home, and two firearms were recovered, one of which was reported as stolen and had a defaced serial number.
All three teens were charged with: aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm with out a Firearm Owners Identification Card, and unlawful possession of a stolen firearm.
Police said all three were taken into custody at the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center in Joliet.
