Tractor-trailer driver injured Portsmouth rollover crash
The driver of a tractor-trailer truck was injured when he flipped his rig carrying concrete mixing dust on the on-ramp from the Portsmouth Traffic Circle to Interstate 95 on Thursday morning, State Police said.
Dean A. Merritt, 54, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, was driving a 2014 Peterbilt 388 truck towing a 2003 Heil Trailer when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing the truck and trailer to cross the left shoulder of the on-ramp and overturn, New Hampshire State Police said Friday afternoon in a news release.
Troopers helped Merritt get out of the truck and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment for minor injuries.
He was cited for a violation of negligent driving, police said.
The on-ramp was closed for about four hours as crews cleaned up debris from the crash.
