Cold weather safety tips
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It's always important to take extra care during this cold winter weather.
WTWO/WAWV spoke with Deanna Jones, a Family Nurse Practitioner at Bright Souls Wellness, and she gave us some tips to stay safe this winter.

Jones said to make sure you're wearing plenty of layers of clothing and to keep your skin covered up. She also advised that cold weather can be harder on people with lung issues and people should be watch out for cardiac events.
Jones said some signs of cold-related injuries are numbness, tingling, pain or your skin changing colors.
'I think that we don't think a lot about how much we tax our bodies when we're outside in the cold, and how much vasoconstriction goes on. So, you might be shoveling a sidewalk or just moving the snow, and you're doing more of a workout than what you're prepared for or used to,' said Jones.
