Nike Finally Releases ‘Rare' Air Jordan 1 Shoes: ‘Things Got Crazy in the Sneaker Lab'

The wait is finally over. Nike has released its latest "Rare Air" Air Jordan sneakers, and you should probably hurry up and grab a pair if you like them before they sell out.
Nike is selling Air Jordan 1 High OG "Rare Air" men's shoes for $180. Available sizes at the time of publication range from men's 3.5 to 14 and women's five to 15.5. The colorway is called White/Neutral Grey/Deep Royal Blue/Black.
Nike says, "We all gotta start somewhere—even the greatest of all time. Things got crazy in the sneaker lab back in the day with imperfect AJ1 samples, incorrect logo placements, odd seams, and out-of-place packaging. 'Mistakes' turned into marks of rarity and unforgettable must-haves. We call that Rare Air."
Nike says, "From flawed to flawless, being the flyest is a process of trial and error. This AJ1 repurposes the imperfections found on early samples to turn the unexpected, archival moments into a modern design. One-off details like the Deep Royal Blue 'Nike Air' woven labels, 'Nike Air' Wings logo on the inside collar, and never-before-seen 'brush-off' Swoosh logos play up the lore of the original, while mis-match packaging adds an unforgettable aesthetic."
