IIM Ranchi sees 33% jump in highest salary, top package at Rs 50.39 lakh

IIM Ranchi has released the final placement outcomes of its 2024–25 MBA batch. The institute saw its highest domestic offer at Rs 50.39 lakh annually, a 33% increase over last figures were released on Wednesday in the presence of Director Professor Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Dean (Academics) Professor Tanushree Dutta, Chairperson (Corporate Relations) Prof. Rajeev Verma, and other report includes placements for students on three programmes -- MBA, MBA-Human Resource Management, and MBA-Business As many as 96 distinct recruiters were involved in the process. Interestingly, 59% of the MBA graduates were freshers, and 31% of the batch consisted of institute registered a high increase in pre-placement offers (PPOs), where almost 30% of MBA-HR students and approximately 19.8% of MBA students were offered jobs prior to the official placement rounds. The top 10% average salary went up by 7.7%, whereas the top 25% registered a 6.6% RECRUITERS AT IIM RANCHIBFSI and Fintech were the top recruiting industries, followed by Consulting, E-commerce, FMCG, IT, and Manufacturing. Strategy and consulting positions saw a palpable 33% rise in companies recruiting, along with a 28% increase in PPOs for sales and marketing Deloitte, Accenture, American Express, DE Shaw, GAIL, Vedanta, HSBC, Titan, Infosys, McDonald's, and Wipro are some of the leading companies that provided Ranchi credited its enhanced performance to its curriculum design and increased industry were trained in more than 24 elective courses, such as AI Strategy, Strategic HR, Digital Marketing, and Design Thinking -- equipping them with profiles such as Business Analyst, Risk Manager, and Tech Strategy Srivastava said that the emphasis in the curriculum on multidisciplinary learning continues to enhance students' employability.

The Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (IIM Ranchi) has released its Final Placement Report for the academic session 2024-25. According to an IIM Ranchi statement, the highest domestic cost-to-company (CTC) package soared to Rs 50.39 lakh per annum for an MBA student. It is a 33 per cent increase over last year. The pre-placement offers (PPOs) surged across programmes, with nearly 30 per cent of MBA-HR students and 19.8 per cent of MBA students receiving PPOs. The report was released on Wednesday in the presence of Director Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Dean of Academics Prof. Tanushree Dutta, Chairperson of Corporate Relations Prof. Rajeev Verma, and other faculty members. A total of 96 unique companies made placement offers across the flagship MBA, MBA-Human Resource (HR), and MBA-Business Analytics (BA) programmes. Of the participating MBA students, 59 per cent were freshers and 31 per cent were women. The average annual package across the top 10 per cent of students rose by 7.7 per cent, while the top 25 per cent saw a 6.6 per cent increase. The placement season witnessed participation from leading names across industries. BFSI and Fintech emerged as the dominant hiring sectors, followed by Consulting, E-commerce, FMCG, IT, and Manufacturing. There was a 33.33 per cent increase in companies hiring for strategy and consulting roles and a 28.6 per cent rise in PPOs in the sales and marketing domain. Top recruiters included Amazon, American Express, Accenture, DE Shaw, Deloitte, GAIL, Vedanta, HSBC, McDonald's, Titan, Infosys, and Wipro, among others. In line with industry trends, IIM Ranchi emphasized multidisciplinary learning. Students underwent training across over 24 electives including AI Strategy, Strategic HRM, Digital Marketing, and Design Thinking, equipping them for dynamic roles such as Tech Strategy Consultant, Business Analyst, Risk Manager, and Marketing Research Manager. Prof. Srivastava credited the institute's rising stature and placement performance to its evolving curriculum and deep corporate engagement. 'Our students' holistic development through multidisciplinary learning gives them a competitive edge in the job market,' he said.

The achievement is detailed in the Final Placement Report 2024-25 , which was officially released on companies participated in the placement process. The top 10% of students recorded a 7.7% rise in average CTC, while the top 25% witnessed a 6.6% increase compared to the previous highest annual package was bagged by an MBA student, at Rs 50.39 lakh per annum. Among the MBA cohort, 81 companies extended offers, with 59% of the students being freshers and 31% being women. The average package for the top 25% stood at Rs 26.79 lakh, and the overall average CTC reached Rs 19.29 lakh. 19.8% of MBA students received Pre-Placement Offers at an average CTC of Rs 20.85 releasing the report, IIM director Deepak Kumar Srivastava said, "The integration of specialised and diverse courses such as AI strategy, strategic HRM, design thinking, and rural marketing enabled students to develop the cross-functional skills demanded by contemporary organisations. This comprehensive academic training was instrumental in preparing students to tackle real-world business challenges."
