Ana de Armas calls Tom Cruise's praise of her work 'surreal' as dating rumors intensify

"It's very special," de Armas told Access Hollywood at the premiere of her John Wick movie "Ballerina" on Tuesday when asked about him raving about her role in the film. "It's very surreal that an actor like him, like someone like him, likes the movie and my performance and my work, and we're working together now so, yeah, it's pretty, it's really amazing." At the London premiere of "Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning," Crusie told a reporter: "I just saw the movie. It kicks a--," referring to "Ballerina." "Oh, man, it's right in that tone. It's right in that big world. You're going to love it." De Armas and Cruise sparked dating rumors earlier this year when they were spotted together in London and are set to shoot the supernatural thriller "Deeper" together. She's said that she and Cruise are working on "a few projects" together. The rumored couple were first seen together in London in February and have been spotted together several times since, including on her birthday in April and at David Beckham's birthday party in May. In a photo and video captured by a bystander and shared on X of the April birthday stroll, Cruise walked next to de Armas with his hands behind his back and was holding what appeared to be an olive green dog leash with a pouch. On April 13, Cruise and de Armas were seen deplaning the actor's helicopter in London that had taken off from Madrid. At the time, a source told People that the pair were not romantically involved and were accompanied on the trip by filmmaker Doug Liman. Romance rumors began to swirl when de Armas and Cruise were photographed together for the first time on the night before Valentine's Day. Hollywood star Ana de Armas has expressed gratitude to superstar and rumoured beau Tom Cruise for supporting her upcoming movie, Ballerina. Ana, who will be collaborating with Tom on the upcoming movie Deeper, said the Mission: Impossible star recently saw Ballerina, which is set in the world of Keanu Reeves' John Wick franchise. He really wants the industry and cinema to do well and (wants) people going to the theatres. We're working together, so he got to see 'Ballerina' and he actually really liked it. He loved the John Wicks," the actor told Variety. 'It is very special that someone like him is supporting (Ballerina). It is really special in general to have other actors and people supporting each other. We can do well all together," she added. Tom praised Ana's latest film Ballerina, which will be released in theatres on 6 June, during the promotions of his latest movie, Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning. In an interview with the Associated Press, the 62-year-old actor lauded the film's team, including Ana and Keanu Reeves, for their dedication to the John Wick franchise. 'John Wick, I love that franchise and what those guys do. I know what it takes to create these kinds of stories and do it. And now they have Ballerina coming out with Ana, that's outstanding," he said. Ballerina, directed by Len Wiseman, is set between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023). The movie follows the story of Eve Macarro (Ana), a highly skilled assassin on a relentless quest for vengeance against those who destroyed her family.

Ana De Armas is currently "training" for 'Deeper'. The 37-year-old actress is working with 'Mission: Impossible' legend Tom Cruise on Doug Liman's supernatural thriller following an astronaut who discovers a terrible force while diving into a previously unexplored trench. Asked for an update on the project, De Armas told Deadline: "Training, just training, getting ready for what's to come!" She didn't offer any further details on the movie, but De Arms did open up on some of the lessons she'll be taking forward from her 'John Wick' spinoff 'Ballerina'. She stars as ballerina-assassin Eve Macarro in the action blockbuster, and the role has taught her to "take risks". She said: 'I think it's important to keep looking for truth, answers… To keep pushing until you find your truth no matter what. 'So, take risks and get to the bottom of it.' Meanwhile De Armas - who has been inspired by the likes of Uma Thurman - reacted to the idea she can become a similar role model for the next generation of women in film. She added: "It's beautiful, if that's the effect of my work, whether it's this movie or any other roles. It doesn't get better than that! "I'm very happy, I'm proud that that would be my contribution to younger generations. "I think this character actually has all those characteristics. It's really cool! I hope that's what it does." "And they're so lovely and a great team, and the process we're having is amazing. And of course I'm doing crazy training, as you do when you're working with Tom. "It's another level that just keeps setting the bar higher and higher. But it's so much fun. And we're not only working on that thing that we're training for, but also a couple other things too. We just got excited."
